Hey Guys

I have to start by saying that BMEzine is a god send. It is great to go and check other people's stories and get a rough idea on what you are going for. I looked on BME when I got my first tongue piercing four years ago and still look on it with any piercing I am considering getting.

I have a lot of piercings ranging from two lip piercings to a tongue piercing. I got bored one night and was looking on BME when I saw tongue web piercings. I had been thinking of getting my tongue pierced again but when I saw the tongue web piercings it was a case of..."I have to have one!" The next day my mom and I were heading into town and I told her about my latest piercing idea. Immediately she said "you have enough". We were passing the piercing studio where I had been pierced before and I toddled in. The girl remembered me and asked me what I was looking for. I asked how much a tongue web would be and if she could check my tongue to make sure that I could get it done. She looked at my tongue and said yeah it was fine then asked me if I would mind her making a suggestion. She then went on to tell me that she had a girl who was training and had never done a tongue web before. The girl had done all other piercings and she wanted to try the tongue web. I said sure and asked when she would be in. This was the Wednesday and I was then told to come back on the Friday to get the tongue web done. I would also get a discount because it was a trainee doing it.

My mom agreed to pay for it and on the Friday we left the house and off I went to get my tongue web pierced. I had been chatting to friends on the Thursday and they said they would not do it because the girl had never done one before. I didn't mind. In my opinion we all have to learn one way or another. It's not like every piercer is born with experience, they learn as everyone does with everything. When we arrived at the piercing studio I filled out the forms and then I was taken into the room by Lorna and her boss. I watched while they cleaned their hands, put on their gloves and set out the equipment. Then it was time, Lorna was nervous but even though my mouth was numb I did what I could to reassure her that it was ok. It took about fifteen minutes to clamp my tongue web correctly and with her boss helping her Lorna clamped it and then took the needle. I never felt a thing, I swear to you! It was unbelievable. It has to be the only piercing I have had that I never felt a thing. I did could see the needle being put in and I never even felt a little bit of pressure. The bar was put in and they said I could get a look in the mirror. It looked fantastic, it did bleed a little bit but I have been pierced before and it bled. It is nothing major. Lorna then gave me the aftercare instructions and what not.

The aftercare wasn't too bad. It did swell up and there was the odd stingy moment. But nothing major. If it does swell I found Ibuprofen to help it. Also make sure that if you use mouthwash that it is anti bacterial. I love my tongue web piercing. If you are gonna get it done do it cause its awsome! I could eat properly after about a week. Everyone who has seen it thinks it looks cool, with the exception of a few family members who already think I'm nuts but this just kinda made me seem crazier to them. I don't care. I love my new piercing and love playing with it. I am planning another piercing but I don't know what I want yet...of course when I decide and get it done I shall be posting the story on here. I would recommend to anyone thinking of this piercing, or any piercing to make sure that the studio is sterile. Lorna did mine with her boss watching her and guiding her through it. When I went to get the piercing I was adamant that she be present when it was being done. If you do not like the look of the studio then please do not take the risk and get pierced. There are always studios out there that follow cleanliness and it is important.

Happy Piercing Everyone!!!
