I thought I'd write my first experience about my tongue piercing as I've only just had it done (an hour ago) and it was the one piercing I was actually really nervous about. I would've thought that there are other people who worry about the tongue also mainly because it's your TONGUE, you need that for loads of things from eating and talking to well ... yes that too (Dirty bastards!)

She could tell I was nervous as poo so while giving me the aftercare helped tried to get a good giggle out of me. The use of using 'salt water' the morning after having it done was described as tasting like 'cum' and at this point we were falling about laughing like the immature pair we are. It took a good few minutes to get our grip on what was about to happen but I hadn't realised that she'd already marked me up and was waiting for me to have a quick look in the mirror to get my approval. In the mean time had a good few spits and swallows (keep a lid on it ya filthy lot) and my tongue was not numb and ready. Not to forget that my tongue was inspected to make sure Mim knew where the veins were etc. We sat talking for a few awhile about Christmas and let the agent take effect My tongue began to feel like I was back at the dentist again; all numb and heavy. Urgh!
Then came the piercing:
The feeling isn't the greatest I've ever experienced I have to say, a lot of it was the nerves I'd been getting the hour of driving there and the preparing, and no having your eyes closed doesn't make it any easier! There was a lot of pressure on the tongue and a constant pinch. After that and Mim reassuring me that it was almost over there was a small 'pop' and the needle was through "Ouch!" It was painful but over quick enough for me to know it was done and I was going to be happy and pierced.
After the bar was in I was asked to poke my tongue out for Mim could check for swelling and blood which caused a load of slobber to fall out of my mouth too *ew* but yet again another giggle by us girlies was had! I was surprised that I didn't actually bleed that much! There was a little bit on the tissue after I'd swilled out my tongue but all was good later.
Straight after it was done, talking to Mim and the others was surprisingly easy. Mim was actually quite impressed by me as she was unable to talk when she had hers done. The bottom of my tongue is more painful with the piercing itself and the talking as the lower bar is resting on the floor of my mouth, this I know is going to be a problem so driving home I did my best to hold my tongue up in my mouth and not move it but the top of my tongue is aching now so I can't really win.
Sat here having it done it a little weird, it's best to just keep your tongue still, the bar is touching both the roof and floor of my mouth and therefore it's a bugger to talk although I'm doing well - So I'm told. It's like having 'a sweet in your mouth' said Mim and she's right. Catching it a little now and then isn't the greatest feeling you can have but you learn. I'm also finding I'm producing a lot of spit which is think is the case of the lower ball on the floor of my mouth so I'm making sure there's a tissue close at hand. Thinking about it now I can understand what Mim was saying in regards to the sore throats she suffered with while hers was healing. I think it can all be blamed on the lower ball *grr*
In the case of swelling I was warned that it usually swells during the first night so to be ready for a 'burger' for a tongue tomorrow Urgh!
I'm having the bar changed on Tuesday to a shorter length which will be a God send by the end of these seven days but it'll be cool I'm sure. I'm slightly worried about the sensations I'm going to feel having the bar changed but it can't be that bad really, can it? *panics*
The only problems I've had really is purely because my tongue is so short *sighs* Mim has trouble actually getting to it but she managed with lots of asking for me to poke it out more - it must have sounded rather rude from outside the room I'm sure! Good old Mim.
My advice to anyone having this done is to be ready for a lot of drinking both food and drink through a straw and to just make sure it's a time when you can sit at the computer with your headphones on and ignore everyone for a good week. This is what I intend to do!
Well that's my first experience diary thing written, hope I haven't bored you too much.
