I have always been in love with piercings and tattoos. Unfortunately my parents do not agree with this fetish I have. They think I'm far to young for piercings. I begged them for years to let me get just one piercing. After much begging they agreed to let me get one piercing. So I chose to get my tongue pierced. That was the beginning of a great obsession of mine.

I waited one year to start begging for another piercing. My father said no so I started to beg my mother. My mother is far more accepting of body mods. She finally told me I could, but I had to keep my dad from knowing. So I chose another tongue piercing. I got a friend's mother to agree to take me and sign for me to get my tongue pierced again. The first day I went to get it done they were working on a man's tattoo and I would have had to wait 45 minutes to get pierced because there were only 2 people working at the time. I didn't have the time to wait that long so I left and decided to come back the next day. Well the next day came around and it figured that they closed early that day. I was so upset. I even thought about going to the other piercing place nearby but I wanted the same guy who pierced me the first time to pierce me the second time. I fully trust him and he did a great job with the first tongue piercing that I got. The next day came and I was ready to get pierced. They were open so we went in and talked to the piercer. I was so nervous that I was shaking badly. I had a few questions before I payed. I asked him about the amount of pain that would be involved. He told me it would hurt slightly worse than the first that I had gotten. I sighed in relief because my first piercing did not hurt at all. I filled out the paper work which was really hard because of my shaking and he told me to go in and have a seat.
I sat down on the cold table and watched as he pulled out the needle and gloves. He told me to take my first tongue ring out and give it to him. My best friend had come to sit with me because she had just gotten hers done a few days before me. I all of a sudden got so nervous. He clamped down and thats when I told him to hold on a second. I was sitting there (tongue still in clamp) for a few seconds preparing my self. Then I said okay. I thought he was marking my tongue when I felt a rush of pain in my neck and tongue. I screamed in pain and jerked a bit. I was so shocked that it hurt so badly. It felt like my tongue was being ripped out of my throat (I have a really short tongue). I felt the needle pop through the bottom of my tongue and thats when I knew he had not been marking my tongue but piercing it. It stung slightly as the barbell went through. Then it started swelling instantly and I bleed a bit. The piercer was great though he talked to me the whole time and tried to help me stay calm. This piercing didn't stop hurting unlike my first that went numb right after the needle went through. He then gave me some mouth wash and I gargled with it and spit it out. He had a mirror and I opened my mouth to look at it and the air made it hurt worse so I closed it. The piercing was right where I wanted it he put it at an angle so it wouldn't go through my web. It was centered perfectly though. I went back in and he cleaned and then put my first tongue ring right back in for me. He told me to rinse with salt water and not to baby it before I left.
Well my healing process was not too bad. I'm a really slow healer so I expected the worst. My tongue was swollen a little over two weeks and it still gets sore even now and its been a few months. During my the healing process I tried not to baby the piercing! I ate normal and since I was use to having something in my mouth I had no problems eating like I did with the first one. I did not even chip any teeth. I cleaned it all the time. After I ate, drank, and smoked. For awhile I thought about taking it out because to me it didn't look like my other one because of scar tissue. Now it looks great though and I'm really glad I did not take it out. My first one took along time to heal completely and this new one is too. I love it though. I hope to get many more piercings in the future my birthday is coming up and I think I'm going to get a monroe.
I recommend a tongue piercing to anyone who wants one. Even though my second one hurt a bit I would do it all over if I had the chance.
