This is a story about love and lust, trust and betrayal. Pain and pleasure and the thin line in between . Ok I lied it's about an 18 year old girl deciding to get eight gauge needles ripped threw her tongue.
At A Glance Author Krystal Contact Krystal@bme.anon When Two years ago Artist ummm guy? Studio The electric chair Location Houston, Tx I'd wanted a set of venoms for years but had two things standing in my way: my age, and my reluctance to get rid of my center tongue piercing because it was my first "real" piercing and the person who had done it for me had die a couple days after he did it for me( when I was 15).
So a few days after I turned 18 I was chilling at a friends house and one of the guys there happened to mention he worked at the electric chair. For anybody who lives in Houston they know this is one of the best shops we have here. ( well beside Taurian but after a 20 minute argument with the head guy there about surface piercing that ended in a screaming match I refuse to go back there)
So me and him started talking and I was telling him about how I wanted to get a pair of venoms. So he looked at my tongue told me I was a perfect candidate for the piercing, said he'd do it for the price of the jewelry ($50) and set up an appointment for the next day. Me being tipsy at the time let him talk me into getting them done at an 8g.
So fast forward 12 hours and I'm walking into the shop. So I see my piercer (as he'll be referred from now on because he did do it for way cheaper than he was suppose to and I don't want to get anyone in trouble) sitting there and when he sees me he jumps up tells me everything's set up and he leads me to the back. He starts telling me he's excited about doing the piercing because he'd only been piercing for six months and most of those were center tongue and navel piercing. I should have been nervous but after looking threw his portfolio I knew I was in good hands.
So I reluctantly remove my than present tongue ring and start to swish my mouth out with the mouth wash he hands me. I look down at the trey and remember just how big an eight gauge needle is and get a little nervous. But I mean my center tongue piercing didn't hurt at all How bad could it be just one gauge bigger.
I should of known when he giggled and asked me if I was ready.....
So we start with the marking. I guess I was being super picky but it took a couple times to get the dots just how I wanted them to be. So after the markings were to my liking the fun started.
It took him a few seconds to get the clamps positioned right he asked me if I was ready
(followed by more giggling) "breath in" and OH MY FUCKING GOD!! (Can I say fucking on here? )I won't lie it hurt, it hurt bad and I still had one more needle to go. Maybe it was because I was not worried about the pain that it hurt I mean I never would of thought it would hurt that bad but it did. Thoughts ran rampantly threw my head. Why do we do this to ourselves? Did I really want to go threw that again? I guess my piercer noted the pain in my eyes and told me he warned me about the pain ( LIAR!) and asked if I was ready for the next one.
Well "no" just wasn't an option so I said yes. He got the clamp positioned and rip, it was over. It hurt, but not the earth has stopped turning and there's nothing but me and the pain like the first one. I didn't even feel the jewelry switch out, well because my guy is that good.
It was over. He took pictures for his portfolio went over aftercare and I was released back into society.
The first couple days sucked. My tongue swelled up twice as much as with my original tongue ring. It maybe because it was two new holes instead of the one or it could have been the size difference or it could have been their powers combined. Who knows?
But I will say this, I was able to eat in about two days, as opposed to the four with the first tongue ring. I battled with scar tissue for about six months ( which I never got with my first tongue ring) but after that everything was fine.
So thirty something piercing later ( including 2 0 gauge conch dermal punches and array of other cartilage piercings and several genital piercings) these were definitely the most painful thing I've ever been threw. But I'd do it all again because they are hands down my favorite piercings, well maybe besides my triangle but that's a story for another time....
