I decided on a spur of the moment to go get my tongue pierced. Well, I say spur of the moment when in reality, I'd wanted it done for years just hadn't had the money to do as such. This month on the first? I did. It was on! After finally having the money especially.

I knew I wanted it right then. As soon as I went through the budget so me and my friend B**** called around for a few prices and details then decided on Ten in One. We had always heard that Ten in One was the best and the location was totally easy to find.
I showed up and instantly felt at ease from the jitters I had all afternoon. The studio was neat and clean. They do tattoos as well, so there was tons of pictures and examples of what they could do. They also do all kinds of other body modification. They do suspension and he was showing us the implanted balls he had done under his skin then tattooed over.
We had a friend of ours with us and he kept asking questions about other piercings and prices. Then finally we got our consent forms and filled them out, everything in order he took our ID's and made copies of them so we could get our free down sizing later.
And now, the walk of death into the piercing room itself. Okay, the pictures of blood in people's mouth was designed to freak you out. It DOES. *laughs* But it's okay, you just kind of go with it.
The experience took less time then I thought and was so easy. The sterilization of my mouth was the longest part. I found myself growing increasingly nervous as the time came down that I knew he was going to be putting a needle through my tongue. I only had been fully awake of one other piercing before. My ears, above the originals and those got infected, so I was really a nervous chick deep down!
I had been so nervous about getting this done especially because of the talk I had heard about how they could pierce off center and stab a vein. However, Steve made me feel very relaxed beforehand and I was ready.
Take a deep breath. Breathe out. Needle in. That simple. It was so painless!! I drooled all over myself, but even then, I felt at ease and like I perfectly belonged.
I remember looking at him after he placed the needle and barbell through and literally saying "That's it?". He let me swallow for a moment then screwed it in. B**** got pierced right after me and she had absolutely no qualms. She had it done once before so it was very easy to just to do it all over again.
I say that anyone wanting pierced in the Albuquerque area go to Ten in One. Steve is a absolute professional. He's also hotter then hell and has little horns at the top of his head. So sexy. *drools over him a little* I have never felt so at ease before. After he pierced us he gave us a list of precautions and then the bottle of mouthwash. He also reminded us that we get free down sizing when we are ready.
My aftercare has been a quite tedious process. My tongue was literally almost the size of Texas the next day! However, the rumors you can't talk are pure rumor. I was on the phone THAT night with my father and he wouldn't have guessed if I hadn't told him. This week has been QUITE a chore.
I'm learning how to eat all over again and that's quite a new thing. I've also been warned about spicy food. Living here without green chile is the pits!
But after this first week, I have learned that I really love my new piercing. I find myself unable to stop playing with it at some points. It's almost instinct now! Really, the talk about tongue piercings make it so much more then what it really is. It was a simple amazing experience and it has made me more interested in other body modifications.
What I've learned deep inside is that when you have this thing in your mouth a lot less looks appealing food wise. It's like it takes 20 minutes now for me to look at everything at the grocery store and I decide I end up not wanting anything because so little appeals suddenly.
A lot of people have asked about it and I've also done my fair share of asking friends about the stuff that worries me. I can safely honestly say that I have already lost a few pounds from not eating.
In short? Piercing your tongue is better then any other diet diet by far!
So. Next month, back to Ten in One for my eyebrow. Then the Labret!
