I had never had a piercing before and I had seen a couple of friends get their tongue pierced, so the little sheep that I was I wanted to get mine done too. I was 15 and I was asking my mum if she was going to let me get it done and she was telling me how much she hates it and how ugly she thinks it is and she doesn't want me to get it done because she knew so many people who have died from getting it done, all the normal fuss that mothers make so I didn't exactly get the response I was looking for and I wasn't even going to try and ask my dad.

I asked my Mums best friend if she would give me permission to get it done because she has known me ever since I was littler then I am now and because she is a rebel at heart so I am eternally grateful for that, thanks other Mum. I went to the place where I watched my friend get hers done so I thought I could trust my tongue with them and with a little bit of stretching the truth before long I was rinsing my mouth out ready to get my first hole. My tongue had just been dried off and i was getting it marked on, i have a really big tongue so the piercing was done a little further back than normal but still with heaps of room to spare. I didn't know what to expect weather to be scared or excited but my clamp happy piercer Sasha soon had me asking "does she need to hold my tongue that hard and jerk it around so much?" I remembered to keep breathing and in no time the needle had slipped through and I didn't feel a thing, we got it all on camera and I watched it later and couldn't help but scream.

My tongue was fat, I couldn't eat or talk but my parents still didn't notice until four months later that I had a bar in my tongue and they still haven't accepted it. Everyone was now getting their tongue pierced and I didn't like the feeling of being like everyone else so luckily one day I found a little extra money in my bank so I was off to do it again.

This time I was a little more nervous because it was a spur of the moment thing but I went back to the same piecers to once again leave my tongue in their hands. This time one of the girls who works there, Donna, was scarring me with all her talk about hitting veins because I wanted to get my tongue pierced another two times and off center and further back sorta like a triangle which I had never seen done before so I was a little bit scarred. I only wanted to get it done once at this stage and come back another time and get the third one done basically because that is all that I could afford but they talked me into getting both done one the same day because it would be double healing time otherwise so two on the same day seemed like the wiser option and my friend Alana also gave me a little extra money, thanks mate. Sasha seemed more scarred then I was about this piercing so I decided I would go with one of the more experienced piercers, Wade.

I was sitting there as ready as I was going to get I had just been marked up, Wade clamped my tongue and the first time it felt like the needle wouldn't go through so it was a little painful. After the first one was done I waited a few seconds before we did the second one but by this time my tongue was starting to get a little swollen so the third time was even more painful and there was alot more blood. My mouth filled with blood and trickled down my chin so I went to wipe off what I thought was drool but got a handful of blood and it eventually ended up everywhere. After my third tongue piercing I couldn't talk properly for a week or two and I could finally eat again without pain after three weeks, so the healing time was alot longer and painful but it was all worth it. I was living off KFC potato and gravy and jelly, and I kept sucking on ice. I named my boys (barbells) Archibald, Terrance and Cleedis. Dad kept on wanting me to go to the doctor because he thought the reas on that my tongue was swollen was because there was something wrong with the first piercing and was telling me that he wanted me to take it out so I told him it was just a throat infection and I would be over it soon, Mum wanted to see down my throat at the swelling so I told her it was fine. My parents are yet to find out about the second two. I really love my multiple tongue piercings but the day I find someone with my exact piercing wont be a happy day.
