Well I had been thinking of getting venoms since I first seen your site about a month ago and today I finally did it!!
At A Glance Author Kristy Contact Kristy@bme.anon When It just happened Studio rugs in the forrest Location Margaret River Australia I had to travel two hours to get to my regular piercer/tattooist only to find that the shop was shut until the afternoon, what a piss off! But I knew of another piercer just down the road so I went there.
They had to ring him to come in too (groan) but he was only 5 minutes away so that wasn't too bad.
Everyone say's you should go and see what the person's like before you go there but this time I didn't care because as I said I had been after venoms for about a month and I wasn't waiting all day for the other guy.
So there I am letting this guy who's name I don't even know have a look at my tongue with my three year old running around and my mum looking at all the 'toy's' on display in the shop when he say's 'So who's the second piercing for?' I was like 'huh? oh me I'm getting both of them!'
So that earned me a slight discount on the total price of the two piercings, which was good because as I said I had already had to pay petrol to get there and back.
So we went into the room off to the side of the office to mark out where I wanted the studs to go which was further back and off to the sides of the piercing that was already there.
Then I got 30 questions about the other piercer I was originally supposed to go to as they are in this sort of customer war!
After he finished grilling me I asked if I could take photos of the actual piercing and he said no!!! He didn't like his picture being taken!
What a let down!! I really wanted the photo's for a presentation I had to do but oh well too bad so sad, I had other photos from my first piercing so they'd have to do.
Now this is the part where everything is supposed to get sterilized and he puts gloves on but none of that happens, he just grabbed two bars out of the display cabinet, chucked them on the tray, grabbed out the needle and asked me to stick out my tongue...no mouthwash, no gloves...
I know I should have asked him to sterilize the things and put gloves on but at that time I didn't really care so I let him go for it.
He put on the clamp, which didn't hurt as much as I remembered, grabbed the needle and said 'Here we go'
And then it was done...it didn't hurt at all! That is until he used the pliers to tighten the stud. Then I looked in the mirror and saw the blood!! It was running down my chin and there was heaps of it!!! My first thought was that he'd hit the artery but I figured there would be even more blood if that had happened, so I used the paper towel he gave me to stop the blood going all over my clothes and waited for him to do the other side.
And with my tongue still hanging out, blood running everywhere and still not having rinsed it, he put the clamp on the other side. I had been worried that this would hurt as some of the stories on the site stated that it hurt lots more with the second one but no worries it didn't hurt.
Then the second needle went through, the second stud was put in, more blood ran out of my mouth, I needed to use a few of the paper towels, and there you go it was done, the whole process took less than 5 minutes and I finally got to rinse out my mouth...only with water though.
Within 10 minutes the blood had stopped so I stopped thinking of blood loss and started thinking how much I liked my new piercings already. Then there was the two-hour trip home with my mouth full of ice which was ok and now it's been 4 hours since it was done, my tongue has hardly swollen yet (the other times it swelled straight away) and everything is good!
So I definitely recommend getting multiple tongue piercings, it's not as bad as some people make out, mine actually had less pain for the two piercings together that I had when I had my tongue pierced the last time but that's another story.
The only things that had worried me was the blood as the other times I've had my tongue done there wasn't any blood and the lack of sterilization or gloves which should be a regulation or something.
