I'm 16.I've had my tongue pierced before, but I had to take it out because my mom saw it and made me. If you have piercings, you no how much you miss them when they get taken out. So I've been dying to have it repierced. Unfortunatly my mom took all my barbells, so I couldn't go about repiercing it. Finally I just bought a kit on ebay with a 14ga piercing needle, and a 3/4 14ga barbell.

I figured I could just hide it, ya know? Well last night,I got home went through my mail and there it was. I took it in the bathroom and hid it among my towels.I waited until my mom was asleep. I went into the bath room opened the sterile package. Washed my hands. Then I laid out a towel incase i bled. I've never bled much before,but its a safety precaution.I grabbed the needle then unscrewwed one of the balls of the barbell.
I found the old scar on my tongue from the previous piercing. Looked for any veins just incase.It was all clear. I put the needle against my tongue and pushed. The needle was almost completely through and it started to hurt. I knew I was at the top layer. I pushed it through and grabbed the barbell again from the counter. I put the end without a ball into the needle and pushed it through. I wiped the drool off my hand and the barbell and my tongue. Then I put the top ball on.
It looked good. I popped a couple of IB profun and drank some ice water. I called my best friend and while we were talking i decided to be a dumb ass and try to switch the barbell for the retainer.As I slid the barbell out i started to bleed. Not a little drop but a nice stream. Instinctivly I grabbed ice and shoved it on my tongue.It kept a steady stream of blood flowing for about 10min. I decided I better just repierce it and hope for the best. So I went through the process again, this time in my room.It stopped bleeding.So I went to bed. This morning all looks well. It's a little swollen. No pain unless I play with it too much.I ate a donut this morning and smoked a couple of cigs. I know I shouldn't smoke but its hard not to.
I'm wondering now if the reason I bled was the IB Profun.Maybe its like asprin and works as a blood thinner. I'm kinda worried about it, but I haven't had any more problems.I think I might try to put the retainer in today or tomorrow. I always heal fast to tongue piercings and am able to switch barbells after a couple of days. I don't want the bleeding to start again. My mom hasn't noticed I repierced it.I have braces, so I guess that hides it alot. I also don't open my mouth too wide when I talk.The most important thing to me right now is making sure I don't bleed to death.I couldn't tell my mom last night, she would have killed me!
The pain of piercing isn't bad at all and its completely worth having a barbell through your tongue.I would do it a million times over.Just make sure if you pierce yourself keep ice water around. The ice stops the bleeding quickly and could easily save your life.It may have saved mine.Who knows? Maybe I should try the retainer again now.I think I will.Ok I just toook the top ball off. Now i took the barbell out. The retainers in. I just hope its not too short.If I swell, it will probably force the retainer into my tongue..That would suck.
I can't wait until I can show of my barbell!I won't tell anyone I'll just see if they notice,ofcourse its hard not to play with it.Even though it hurts I love playing with it.
