Atlast! A Tongue Ring!

Hi! My name is Mike - I am 16 years of age. For the past year now, i have wanted to get my tongue pierced. Of course, my mum wouldn't let me.

Today (28/12/00) my mum has left for Sydney on a holiday. Wow. What a time to do it :)

So Friday morning, off I go on the bus to a local piercing shop named 'Atlantis' This clean, tidy shop does all piercings If you are 16 or older. I am 16.

Anyway.... I went in.... ask about the bellbars and prices. 15 minutes later, I was sitting on a little chair twiddling my thumbs while my piercer carefully collected all the pieces that were needed... all packaging was opened in front of me. She asked where I would like it done. I told her as far back as possible so my parents wouldn't see it. She marked the in and out holes, where the needle was to go with a marking pen. I then stuck out my tongue, and my piercer clamped my tongue with a NEW pair of clampers. 30 seconds later the bellbar was on and she was just screwing on the bottom ball.

People say the clamps hurt the most, but I hardly felt them. As the needle went through I felt it go through every layer of my tongue. It did hurt, actually no it didn't. I FELT it going through with a slight pinch. It never actually gave me any pain though.

Anyway... I sat and drank some water for a few minutes to wash away the tiny amount of blood that appeared. I walked out the room with the lady. Showed sum other people who worked there who said it looked excellent. I paid my $77 dollars and was handed my aftercare sheet.

I got told to come back in a week to get my bar downsized.

I walked out and went to the chemist to buy sum 'Difflam C' which helps numb your tongue AND reduce swelling. I used some of that and went home. I got it done 5 hours ago and it hurts more now then wen I first got it done. I am living though. It has swelled a little bit but is ok. I can so far talk normally although it hurts a bit.

>From reading other peoples story's on BME I am expecting my tongue to be "HUGE" when I wake up tomorrow morning but that's no prob.

I suppose i should tell you another problem that may ocurr, actually, i have 2.

1) My brother isn't on holiday. If he see's he will tell my parent. I hate him so much!

and

2) I have the dentist 3 days after my mum gets back. I am HOPING that if i tell the Doctor, he won't tell my mum or make her look in my mouth!

I am having trouble drinking and i am not alloud to eat till the swelling has gone down. thats ok i think though. My piercer also made me buy a frozen coke after i got it done. it took me half an hour to drink it because i couldnt suck on the straw. it hurt! lol

so far only one of my friends know and they want to get it done now.

I am playing with it heaps so i think it may get infected but ill try and NOT play with it.

When i get the bar downsized i am going to get a clear ball on it for work and so my parents don't find out, haha

It took me a while to find a good place because most places you have to be 17 and where i got it done you only have to be 16 so i was happy.

When this is healed or if i have to take it out, after i finish crying, i will 'secretly' go and get my navel pierced. they wont see that. i wouldnt get a ring either. i would get a bellbar with a ball one end and a spike the other. That would be so cool.

Overall, having a metal bar through my tongue feels really good.

because my tongue is a little swollen i can fell that balls on the top and bottom of my mouth. hehe it feels cool :)

Anyway. That's my tongue story, I am VERY happy with its placing and love it heaps.
