3months with a tongue ring b4 my parents knew!

I had wanted to get my tongue pierced for sooooo long, however my parents are the type who would kick me out for doing such a thing! I know to u and I, a tongue piercing is nothing however I got kicked out of home for 3 weeks a year and a half ago for getting my nose pierced with a tiny little feminine looking Diamante! Also when my mother found out that my best friend had her toongue pierced about a year ago now, she wouldnt let her in our house or talk to to her for a month or so!

So when I decided that I was going to get it done, and face the consequences later, i was kinda scared but I set myself a date and because I work in a beauty salon that has a qualifeid body piercer in it, I booked myself in! I work saturdays and I finish at 3.30 pm I decided Id get it done staright after work! I am a huuuuuuuuge wuss and all my friends and the girls from work all bet that i would chicken out, which made me all the more determined to actually go through with it! I mean, I knew it didnt hurt because i would always ask the clients after they'd had it done at my work and everyone assured me that it was nothing!

Anyway i did all the correct procedures like signing the forms and rinsing my mouth with listerine and then basically it was done! It seemed I'd just layed down stuck my tongue out for a second and the piercer told me to stick my tongue back in my mouth! It was all so easy!

I went a got a slurpee straight afterwards, but basically went home and ate a BBQ dinner with my family as I had to act as normal as possible so my parents wouldnt get suss! It took me ages to chew tiny little pieces of food, right at the back of my mouth, but basicallyi pulled it off as you couldnt see the jewellery when i spoke unless i exagerated my words or laughed! So as long as I was careful not to do these things, i was sweet!

I went out that night and shocked all my friends because I didnt tell them I had had it done so I specifically drank rasberry and vodka to make my tongue go red! Then would say to my friends, 'Is my tongue red?' and stick it out and then just bask in their reactions! It was brilliant!

I have no regrets whatsoever, and even though at first kissing someone feels wierd, you get used to it and end up LOVING it! As for other stuff, well...........I've had no complaints thats for sure!

Anyway three months later and my mother has only just found out and seems to be ok with it, considering she knows how long I've already had it and the fact that she didnt even know and my father still doesnt. I think she's actually forgotten about it again anyway! Its brilliant!

I healed very well and very quickly. As i said before i basically ate whatever i wanted straight away,it just took a little longer than usual and a little concentration as not to bite my tongue or eat on one side too much. The swelling went down a little later than what i thought (about 4 weeks), but I started pashing people around then anyway!

I am a smoker and I would listerine after every cigerette, after meals and then just during the day a few times anyway and as a result my tongue turned a horrible white colour so when I went to go show it off to people, it looked kinda gross! So I took up becoming a drunk! I drunk vodka and rasberry alot! Nah, im not an alcoholic but i drank rasberry sodas alot and ended up always having a fluro red tongue! It looked great as a contrast to the baby blue glass stone in my tongue ring!

Just a warning to those wanting to get a piercing! There are alot of dodgy piercers out there, that aren't really in it for anything other than a quick buck! I fell victim to that when i got my nose pierced last year, I didnt know any better because I hadnt even been in a piercing palour before. I actually got it done in a hairdressing salon with an ear gun, which I have since found out to be illegal. Ear piercing guns cannot be sterilised in an autoclave because the inside parts can melt or rust. Autocalving is the only effective way to kill viruses and diseases such as Hepatitis and HIV. Also when the stud from the gun is shot in, it may not go all the way through the nostril and may have to be manually pushed through or redone, both of these can cause a great deal of pain.

So Please be careful where you go to get any piercings, including nostrils and ears.
