Finally...Someone clean who would pierce me being under 18.. |

Ive wanted my tongue pierced for the past 4 years, and after begging and pleading with my mother..the answer was still no... So when I found a clean, safe place that would pierce me (Im only 17) I was pretty stoked...Anyway...On with the story right?Like I said Ive wanted this done for awhile so I researched it to find out all the dangers and how the procedure would go and the pain factor(really depends on the persons pain tolerance)..etc etc..and after much consideration I decided it was definetly something I wanted done. So after asking alot of places their age policy and the answer always being 18 or that I had to have parental consent I finally gave up on trying and decided to wait it out till I was 18. Then I was at a concert talking to some people who told me of a good clean studio that they had experience with that would do it. After a little convo with my good friend I managed to get him to loan me the money for it and off I went.
I was pretty nervous but knew this was what I wanted so I went there...talked to the people and they told me they had an appointment free in about 45 minutes. So I filled out the form, payed the cash, talked about after care and jewelry (3/4, 14 Gauge Surgical Steel Barbell) with the girl and then waited... I was sitting there with about 25 minutes to wait until my appointment when the piercer came out, looked at my tongue and asked if I was ready now. My legs started to shake because I thought I had like 25 more minutes to prepare but I sucked it up and said yes and followed him into the room.
He was really nice and answered all my questions plus he was impressed with the knowledge I already had so that made me feel a little better and a gave me alot more confidence. He explained to me what he was going to do:
1. Get me to rinse with listerine.
2. Dry my tongue off and then mark it.
3. Put on the clamp.
4. Push the needle through.
5. Put in the barbell.
So off to work he went and just a short time later it was all done. He said that most people found the clamp uncomfortable which I didnt even feel and the piercing itself I found it to be a weird sensation more than painful and it was really exciting. Eating sucked for the first couple of days...apple sauce, popsicles and listerine were my best friends. I tried regular food the day after but found it was to hard to eat fast and eating it so slow and in such small bites just wasnt cool. Now I can eat the same as I did before it was done. The swelling only lasted about 3 days and I found it to be sore once in awhile but no big deal.
I know that tongue piercing is extremely common and trendy, but the reason I got it done was for me. Not so other people would think I was cool. I love the way it feels and looks and its something I totally dont regret, and I must admit that the stories Ive heard about it being better for oral sex appealed to me to. I haven't gotten a chance to test that one out yet.
Its been about a month and a half since I had it done and now Im constantly checking out new barbells and stuff...I bought a glow in the dark one but havent worn it much yet because different people have told me different things about it. Ive been told its dangerous and toxic and not to put it in my mouth...but other people I know have them and say they are fine so Im not sure what to believe on the topic...at the moment I just wear it for short periods of time. Its so neat at clubs under black lights and stuff.
Id definetly recommend you getting your tongue done if your trying to decide...besides if you dont like it you can always take it out right?
Im looking forward to more piercings when I turn 18 and possibly a tattoo. In a few weeks Im going to get my ears pierced at a 10 gauge and Im going to begin stretching them. I havent decided what my goal for them is yet. I figured Ill do it until Im satisfied and leave them at that.
Well I guess thats it. If anyone has any questions Ill do my best to answer them and anyway thanks for reading this. Well Im sure you will see alot more piercing experiences from me in the future.
