Well, a little about myself, I hate needles and I have wanted my tongue pierced since I was in like 5th or 6th grade. And it was always out of the question! Well, once I got into 8th I started it back up but finally backed down, cause I was getting no where fast! Well, then the summer before 10th I was like screw it I want it done, so I have to talk her into. So I got online, and tried all these piercing sites, well the ones I got were not English. So I searched and it brought me to BME. And I read all of the articles emailed some people, and sent the site to my mom..then she decided, if I paid for it I could get it done.. I was so excited!!! I waited for my paycheck and that Saturday I went with my stepdad--I got there, and I was *SO* pumped, I had my best friend with me...but once we got up there, the guy said I couldn't get pierced unless he had legal guardianship papers! (which he doesn't) And the guy behind the desk told us, that we needed my mom, and my ID or birth certificate. They were closed on Sunday, so I had to wait until Monday. Well, my mom got off of work at 5, me and my stepdad met her at work, and left from there! And again I had my best friend Lindsey with me. We get there, they had me and my mom fill out all kinds of paper work. And then she gave me a long speech on how, I cant stick my tongue out for a month, no oral sex for up to six weeks, no smoking for at least a week, no drinking alcoholic beverages for about two--cause people have come back with a yeast infection in there mouth from drinking~! Then she told me that not to suck *anything* for like 4 to 6 weeks, cause I can tear the whole. So we had to wait for like ten minutes. I just looked at tattoos. Then she called me in, had me swish with cool mint listerine for thirty seconds twice. She was very nice! She told me about when she got hers done, and how her mom cried! She talked about her baby. She did alot to get my mind off of it! Then we went into her lil room sat on a bed that looked like a doctors office. She had the needle on the lil table of hers. With everything else! First she put a paper towel on me and dried off my tongue, then marked it. I liked where it was so I had to swallow all the rest of my spit, and she dried it off again. Then she put the clamp on which did *NOT* bother me in anyway!! And that's when I closed my eyes!!! She put the needle through the top, and out the bottom. The needle just looked like a nail ... it was small...and all you felt were two pricks! She gave me a cup of cold water and told me to sip it, until I got ice.. I was to let ice sit on my tongue as much as possible, for the first two days. And I was to clean it with gly-oxide twice a day for the first two weeks. Mine didn't hurt the second day or anything. And the one time it did hurt was the first time I coughed, bit down on the ball... OUCH~! The swelling didn't go down for about a week and half. But I could eat by the fourth day! Also if you plan to get your tongue pierced make sure to eat. Cause well I tried but couldn't cause I was nervous, and then I was so hungry that night and it was way out of the question to eat, my tongue was *so* fat!! But it is better now, and it has been three weeks!! And my dad still doesnt even know, I think he would kill me. But what he doesnt know wont hurt him! :) I work at a restaurant so people ask me if it hurt and stuff when they see it, and I tell them just like I told you! You wouldn't believe how many people ask you about it! Its like wow!! So -- if you have any questions what so ever, feel free to email me or IM me, and I will try my hardest to answer them!! Also thank you to the people on BME who helped me! And if you are in the Akron area I highly suggest Larox. They are on the news about there place. It was just a wonderful experience and I am *SO* glad I got it done! It is well worth it. I payed $52.00 plus a $5.00 tip!!
