I won't bore you with the whole ive loved body mods since I was young blah blah blah.

truth is, ive always been surrounded by tattoos and piercings due to the music my father was into, so needless to say I found people who have various metal objects jabbed through and sticking out of various body parts fascinating.

And now being 17 and legal to get almost any piercing without consent, the worlds been my oyster and ive had 2 ear rims (the bit between the lobe and cartilage), a scaffold/industrial and now a tragus done in the past 6 months.

What can I say; I love the feeling of the needle as it goes through and the thrill of having a new pierce of metal in me.

People think Im becoming obsessed, but I say piercings are like Christmas decorations; sure the tree is beautiful as it is, but add the decorations and it makes it even better lol. Well ok, it's one theory, but oh well, it sounded good in my head.

Anyways, back to my 'fascinating' straight forward and non gory experience on piercings =)

So it was Friday 22nd May, 12:45pm, I walked into the parlor with my friend who likes to see me get pierced in hope I will chicken out or cry or scream or something will go horribly wrong for her entertainment which she can hold against me for the rest of my life, sadly I like the feeling of being pierced and have a decent pain tolerance and Im always able to hide expressions when Im in pain aha, so balls to her =), the smell of disinfected which I find oddly comforting, and the small waiting room was cram packed aka busy. So instead I went back to college.

After doing some invites for my art show Im having at college, me and a friend went back to the parlor to get me a new hole.

Now, my ear isn't exactly huge, so I have always been wary of whether I have the right anatomy for a tragus piercing. so I went to Kat (who might I add is practically one of the cutest people alive, she's like a little gothic doll bless her!!) and asked her if my tragus was too small, she said that it was big enough for her to pierce if she used a smaller bar which I said was fine.

I signed the papers, and I waited watching the guys do their tattoos, now Tattoo is a really comforting place because it's small but the people who work there are friendly and always joking around almost like a small family, plus they're extremely clean and talented.

Kat called me behind the screen onto the big 'dentist chair' which are extremely comfortable, and she put on her gloves, and got all the equipment to put on her tray. she showed me the bar she would be using, a standard 1.2mm titanium bar, and explained what she was going to do, she tucked in a paper towel in my top so the spray didn't drip and then clamped up my ear and explained because my tragus is small, it would be closer to my head than most peoples so that it wouldn't grow out or reject. Then I did the usual big breath in and out done, being the easy bleeder I am she mopped my little trickle up and pushed the bar through, I felt no pain, but I did feel a strange grinding sensation in the cartilage which was odd. The piercing wasn't painful, just uncomfortable compared to the other 10 piercings ive had (all but one in my ears). So she cleaned me up and gave me the famous aftercare sheet and set me on my way back to my disappointed friend who was waiting to hear my screa ms, but after 5 piercings you would think she'd have learnt. Lol

walking to the bus stop I began to bleed a bit more, and some school kids about 14 years old acting as though they were all that, stopped and gasped which made me smile.

The aftercare was simple, and I could use my earphones the next day and I slept on that sight the night I was pierced. It's been a week now and the swelling is a bit irritating and it aches, but nothing unbearable, and I must say this was my easiest piercing so far.

If you have any questions feel free to email and ask =)

And if your thinking of getting this piercing I say goes for it, it's a discrete piercing and is well suited for most people, you never know until you try

Have fun sticking needles through your body and remember to at least keep them clean if not professional =) xx
