Well I already have 7 piercings and they are all kind of run of the mill as far as I am concerned. I wanted something different and something a little bit odd that people will really find interesting to look at and ask about. My best friend had a Daith piercing done about two years ago and I had never seen one on anyone else and even she had said that she had hardly seen one and I instantly knew that was the next one for me! I was having problems with my existing Helix piercing but I wanted something new none the less.

I had to visit West Sussex on a very sad matter last Thursday and then travelled back to Kent on the same night to stay with my best friends mentioned earlier. On the Friday I wanted us to all go to Brighton to have a good day out thought it might cheer us all up and give us something else to think about so we all went. I had said I wanted to get my Daith done but I get really nervous when I want a piercing or a tattoo I have no idea why but it makes me feel physically sick I get a dodgy stomach and everything. Sometimes I even feel light-headed! It's pathetic really I know what is coming and I have every faith in the piercers! My friends wanted to browse some shops first but I needed to get in there fast or I would have chickened out.

I had never been pierced at Punktured before, but many of my friends have and I have bought jewellery from there before and they have always been really friendly and informative to any questions I had. I was approached by Tom with a big smile and I nervously asked him if he had any appointments free to have it done. I told them I was scared as hell when I filled out my consent form but they all assured me I would be fine. My boyfriend kindly paid for it for me so I knew I had to go ahead then! Jojo another piercer came in with us and my best friend so I had some moral support. My heart banging like hell at this point! I asked to lie down as I knew I would feel faint after or during it being done. Tom checked that I was defiantly sure what a Daith was so he didn't pierce the wrong part of my ear! That I found was defiantly a nice touch as I had been to other places that really were not sure. Tom was really enthusiastic about my Daith he said it was one of his favourite piercin gs and he really enjoyed doing them and looking at them. I felt so much more relaxed and Jojo was really nice too and was encouraging. I laid on my right side as my Helix is on my left and I wanted on each ear and braced myself. I was expecting it to be really painful and probably was not helping the situation by tensing up! When the needle first went through it was ok but when it came out the other side that was when I felt the pain. I did gasp but it was nowhere near as bad as I expected or as another one of my piercings I had had before. It hurt a lot more when the jewellery went through I did cry out a little bit and kick my leg which my friend found very amusing but I don't do pain very well! It was over very quickly and putting the ball onto the bright blue BCR was also not comfortable as the ring obviously had to move which was not nice! Tom and Jojo talked to me the whole time and I was really impressed with their care. I am a COMPLETE wimp and if it had not been for them I probably would have bottled out.

I was allowed to lie down for however long I liked until I felt better as I did begin to feel faint afterwards. My ear was ok straight after, it was throbbing a little bit but no blood as far as I could tell. I sat up slowly and then felt ok to stand up and look in the mirror. I had a little bit of dried blood but nothing bad at all and I had a massive grin on my face when I left the studio.

A week on, Faith the Daith (yes I name them I'm sad he he) is a little bit sore but is cleaned twice a day with salt water. As far as I can tell its healing well and I would defiantly recommend having on to anyone and the studio that I visited :)
