Growing up I was never really thrown into the "real world" as most people call it. I was brought up in a sheltered upper middle class family. No piercings and no tattoos were the policy of my family and house hold.

I thought it was so cool but I knew my parents would never let me get one so I just blew it off to the back of my mind.
Well being 18 and starting to just now rebel against my parents I decided to go have that done, a tragus piercing. It was a split decision piercing, I didn't even think before I got it and no one but two of my friends knew about it before I was getting it done. I didn't tell anyone b/c most people would be against me and I knew they'd tell my parents. I didn't even tell my boyfriend before I got it.
So I called the tattoo/piercing parlor Tough Luck because I had heard really good reviews and experiences about that place from my friends. The receptionist picked up and I asked her about the piercing since I didn't know what that part of the ear was I told her "the piece of the ear that sticks of the face" and she laugh and said "the tragus" I just agreed not wanting to sound stupid she then told me to be there around 3:30 pm. Right after I hung up I immediately started getting ready. My nerves were starting to get to me and my stomach was in knots. I knew this day was going to be one amazing day for an "adult experience". When I was driving over there I was going at least 20 over and I could feel my heart just pounding against my chest. If it wasn't for me knowing what a panic attack felt like I could've sworn I was on the verge of one.
Well, I showed up and of course the receptionist kind of scared me simply because she has her septum done, her eyebrow and tongue but after talking with her she's really cool. She greeted with a genuine "hello" and I told her I was the one who called and she goes "Oh! You're right on time!". She then proceeded to hand me paperwork to fill out and asked for my license just to make sure I am eighteen you know all the legal mumbo jumbo.
So I meet Kris and oh my gosh was really hot!!!Come to find out he's Hawaiian just like I am and he's really nice. So you sis me down in his chair and starts to look at and clean my tragus. At that point I'm breaking out in hives because I'm so nervous and of course he notices and asks about that. I of course not wanting to look like a wimp or dork I say "No, it's from my boyfriend and I fighting.' Since we were fighting that day and of course over nothing really serious. Kris just laughs and shakes his head.
After that he says "Ok, are you ready?" I'm so nervous I don't even trust my voice so I just nod and he leans me back in the chair. Since you can't really see the piercer when they're about to pierce you it makes it less nerve wracking on you.
He says ok "1, 2, 3..." Then all off a sudden I feel this incredible pinch on my tragus and I felt warmth. Well it kind of frustrated me because I guess my tragus is thicker than others because he stopped midway through and had to finish with a second shove. Which somewhat hurt.
The pain wasn't too bad and it did bleed but not too bad. What the worst part was is that the blood drips into your ear and it makes you feel like you have extra ear wax build up.
I just couldn't believe I actually got the piercing and my friends we're really shocked too but I guess you have to do something's on your own. I didn't have the nerve to tell my parents for a while and when I did it wasn't that bad.
I then met one of my friends down at a local salon. I was so proud of myself that I showed her immediately. She laughed and said "Well it's about time you started to live your own life". I even took a picture of my tragus piercing and sent it to my sister Erica, she's the one who started tattoos in my family, and even she was shocked.
All in all I love my piercing. I got it done about 6 months ago. It's healed and I even put a little diamond tragus earring in it. It's really cute and adorable.
