This is really my first some what real piercing. I got my lobes done just a few months back at Caribbean connection, which is possibly the coolest place around. Plus the people are awesome, so I recommend going there for piercing if you're in the area. I know, it took me forever to get my lobes done. Better wait 14 years then never get them at all, I guess.

Studio Carribbean Connections Location Jacksonville Beach, FL My consistent love affair with piercing started out when I first saw the spiral, corkscrew, weaving etc. piercing on BME. I thought it was so original, which is the first thing I looked for a piercing since everyone else had the regular old cartilage studs at my school. It was so perfect for me I just had to have it in my ear, pronto.
Well, my mother wasn't so big on the idea. Still, she said "maybe" which 99.9% of the time is a "yes." I was stoked! I couldn't focus in school the next day, or the next, or the next. All I did was pinch my cartilage and think, "There are going to be two adorable rings here, and in a few months one double spiraled piece of jewelry made of awesome." I learned all the ropes of piercing safety. Fresh needles, clean gloves, no touching, the works. Now all I had to do was wait for the time to come.
Finally, after 3 agonizing months, my mom finally agreed to my piercing. By this time I was nearly peeing myself with excitement. The plan was for Saturday, but by then we waited too late so I had to go the next day. That just about killed me from the inside out. You may not think it's that big of a deal to you, but for me it was excruciating. I looked forward to this special day for what seemed like an eternity.
Bad idea. Sunday came quickly, and I was just pumped to get my ears pierced, but you know how us minors need a notary? Well, the java store right next to Caribbean was closed which is where my mom and I got it last time. Then we asked if there were other places to find one, which was FedEx. Surprise, surprise, they didn't have any. Ugh, not another day of waiting! Sadly it was true, and I was so upset, but my mommy dearest promised that she'd pick me up after school and we'd be on our way. By this point I would have probably combusted if not for my smooth/cool/calm attitude. (Note: Sarcasm) I am a total spazz when I want something that bad.
Okay, finally, finally! School is up on Monday and I'm headed to Caribbean. I was actually a lot calmer then when I got my lobes pierced, which is weird. When we got there it was a smooth exchange. I whipped out my school I.D. and signed some papers. After a little shopping around, it was my turn to enter the piercing office. I still couldn't believe how calm I was compared to my days of waiting and my lobe piercing!
The piercing room is not very big, like the size of a somewhat large bathroom. The chair that I sat on was more like one of those tables you see in a doctors examining room with the paper on top of it. The prep was all set, and I was ready to be pierced!
1, 2, 3, here we go. A sharp pinch with a small pop and it was over. "That's it? Wow. Okay, cool." It hurt sure, but only for a few measly seconds, nothing I couldn't handle. I didn't even flinch. He just laughed and replied that I was doing a lot better than he did with his cartilage piercing. One more deep breath and in went the needle for a second round. I heard the popping sound, but it to me wasn't as nasty as all my friends claimed it to be. Then my ear heated up a bit. He then explained to me how I should clean it and if I needed a brochure about the process, which I already have so I politely denied. I thanked the piercer and my mom about 10 billion times and we were out of there.
Today is the day after I got the piercing, and it's doing very well. I cleaned it up just recently, and that's the only part that really bothers me the most. (My mom still doesn't like it, but accepts it anyhow. She's such a trooper.) All day before that I couldn't feel anything, and no one bumped it so that's good. I just can't wait for my piercing to heal and for my spiral to go in!
Holla' to Caribbean connection, you guys are amazing.
