Let me just say beforehand, I usually get piercings as a way to help getting over something that has been tough in my life. When I decided to get my tragus done, I decided to do it because I had made it through high school without going completely insane. I have 12 other piercings. My two third lobe holes and my labret were all done at Thinkin' Ink. But anyways.

May 31st was my high school graduation. My mom and I planned to go to Thinkin' Ink to get my tragus pierced after graduation. I got up, got ready for graduation, and sat through the 2 hour long ceremony. I thought after that we'd go to the shop and just get it done... But NOOOOOO! My family likes to make plans without telling me. So, I trudge through lunch with my family, who seriously, don't like me very much. After lunch, we went back to the house, dropped off my mom's boyfriend, I changed, then left again. We, being my mom, my cousin, and me, stopped by my work (Taco Bell) to get some slushies then went off to Thinkin' Ink.

We parked around back and walked into the shop. The piercer was standing up front so I told him I wanted to get my right tragus done. He asked how I old I was. I told him I was 17 and he told me I needed my birth certificate. Well, that's not something I carry around in my back pocket, so we go back to the house, find my birth certificate, then head back.

Walk back in, the piercer was piercing someone, so one of the tattooists gave me the paperwork to fill out, and made a copy of my birth certificate and my mom's driver's license. We waited while he pierced this guy. The guy was getting venoms done, until he realised he had a really touchy gag reflex and couldn't hold his tongue out that long to get both.

The piercer called me back, my cousin and mom followed me back and stood in the door way to watch. When I got my labret done, my cousin watched but my mom didn't want to see me get poked with a needle. For some reason, she thought she'd try it now. Well, I got into a discussion with the piercer about whether or not he could do it with a labret stud. He said he thought it would be better to do it with a ring and though, I'm very picky about the way my piercings are done, I just agreed.

He talked to me about my other piercings and how I had most of them done in North Carolina, while he marked my ear. I looked at it, sat back down and he got everything ready. From the way the chair was turned, I could see my mom and my cousin standing at the door slightly to my left. He put the clamps on my ear and got the needle ready. When he had the needle about a foot away from my ear, my mom started feeling sick and bolted away from the door. I don't know how she handled having her nipples, belly button, and tongue pierced. I just sat there and stared at the wall. As he pushed the needle in, I didn't blink, move, or change my breathing. I heard a slight pop, but felt no pain at all. When he stood up to get the ring, he asked me if I was ok. I said yeah. He looked at me and said he's had a bunch of girls pass out on him. He put the 16 gauge ring in. Once again, while he was doing all that, I didn't move. He told me most people "scream and bitch" when he turns the ring in. He said he wished more people would be as calm as I was. It took a minute for him to get the ball on the ring.

After he had the ball on, he gave me a paper and went over the aftercare with me. I jumped up, and followed my cousin out of the room. When I got up front, I laughed at my mom. I paid 40 dollars, 35 for the piercing, and a tip, and walked out. When I got in the truck, I was looking at it in the mirror and got pissed because the ball wasn't hanging straight down and I knew I couldn't move it.

I left it alone until around 12 that night when I sprayed H2Ocean on it after getting out of the shower. I was going to my boyfriend's that night so I threw my can in my back for in the morning.

Ever since, I have been spraying it twice a day. Since I work at Taco Bell, I have to wear those oh-so-glorious headsets. I usually keep a loose bandaid over it for my shift then take it off and spray it. It barely hurts, it's more like a really dull itch you know you can't scratch.

I love my piercing. I love all my piercings. If you are thinking about getting it, try it.
