So, I have been into the body modification scene for a long time, I got my first proper piercing when I was 13. It is something I can really relate to, as most of my piercings have a meaning behind it. For about six months, I have wanted to celebrate my 18th birthday with a new modification to add to my collection, and the rook just caught my mind. A small but noticeable piercing, that can easily be taken care of.

My dad had recently gone to get his earring changed at a place called orgazmic body piercing at the entrance, he told me how well this person was and that he was one of the best on the central coast. As I was going up that way to get my tattoo I decided why not, if this person is reputable then I should give him a go, as it could not of been any worse than my previous piercings. So my dad called the tattooist I was going to and got him to get me a booking for the day I turned 18.
After a few weeks the day came, I was so exited but extremely nervous as I heard this piercing was more painful than a tragus to be pierced, which for me was a horrendous time. So we leave at 9 am and drive in the pouring rain to reach our destination, during that time I was getting worse and worse, the feeling of sacredness came rushing through me, but it was mostly for my tattoo.
We finally get there and find a parking spot, it was still pouring with rain, and there is not much cover around his shop, so we run in. It was this tinny little shop in the front with all this jewellery such as ear plugs and everything you could imagine. I admit I could of spent a lot more time viewing everything, but I just wanted to get everything ready. Joff the guy who pierced me (such a wonderful and chatty guy) started talking about piercings and thought I wanted to get my belly button pierced, had that and had the worst time, so never again. He gave me the forms to fill out while he found a curved bar made from titanium as I have a severe metal allergy with piercings. So after he found a nice silver bar, and I filled out the forms we went into the piercing room, it was so clean.
He explained to me the way he was going to pierce it as my ear is really small, and he would contour it with the shape of my ear. He then explained the aftercare routine with a pack he included in the piercing price. I was to use an anti bacterial soap on the piercing morning and night, and wash the piercing and move the bar up and down. I was then to use a sea salt soak in the night times, which he included a packet of sea salt. I found this extremely helpful, he even included all the instructions printed on a pamphlet in the pack.
He then got everything ready, and washed his hands and put on a glove. I was expecting it to be clamped but he did not. He got his curved bar needle and placed it on the tip, this is where the funny part comes in, I close my eyes extremely hard in case it hurt a lot. It hurt for point five of a second, I literally had this look on my face, like "what the hell happened", it was suppose to hurt more than this. He thread in the Jewellery which I did not feel one bit, and screwed the ball on the bar, this is the least painful piercing I have ever encountered.
I look at my freshly pierced rook amazed at how quick it took to be done, it was stunning, a great addition to my left ear. I walk out happy as ever I must have had a smile from ear to ear. I just found it weird when the air and water would hit it.
My aftercare routine has been very strict, I have followed all the guidelines he told me, washing it with the soap twice a day, and doing a sea salt soak every night. So far, there has been no problem where like in the past, I have gotten a heavy infection within two days, but that was due to my non awareness of my metal allergy. It is still sore when touched, as it's the third day of having it.
I recommend Joff to anyone in the central coast area, he is a great person, and an even better piercer. If you are looking for a relative pain free piercing his, the one you NEED to go to.
