I am eighteen years old and yesterday I decided to get an industrial piercing. I had told my mother that I would be getting another piercing, but I did not tell her exactly what it entailed.

It was hard finding a studio to do the piercing, most of the places did piercings; but they were your normal lobe piercings done with a gun:-o

My friend and I walk around looking for places in the Half Way Tree area, but could not find any. Then I remembered that there is a piecing shop where one of my friends went to.

One of my best friends accompanied me to the studio, just to look on the jewels and to find out the price for the industrial. My intension was to pierce my ears but not the same day. The sight of the jewels (they were very beautiful) and the rush for the love of the piercing just came over me. I was compelled to do it, and I told the piercer I wanted one.

I went to the ATM machine to get the money to do the piercing. On the way there my friend really started to freak, she kept asking me if I was sure it's going to hurt. But I convinced her I was going to do it and it was going to rock. And she adopted the attitude, and admitted she was jealous because she always wanted an industrial.

I picked my jewels which were two curved barbells (which made it more expensive) to help the healing process. I was lead to the room, alone; my friend could not come along :(. I have to admit I was scared; I could feel my increasing heart rate and for some reason my breath was a little bit laboured.

She prepped my ear and then did the first the hole. I had to close my eyes so I would not see the needle (I had a thing with needles). The pain was there when the needle was inserted; but the placement of the barbell took the cake. I felt like my ear was being ripped open. It really did hurt. I tried my best to stifle my little screams; which seeped through anyways. My ear felt like it was on fire; I felt the need to constantly use my hands to fan it. I looked in the mirror at the first piercing as she wiped and sprayed it.

Then it was time for the second one, and I was scared, after experiencing the first. I thought I was going to pee myself; my ear felt like it was on fire. I asked her for a couple seconds to get ready for the second one.

The second piercing hurt more than the first, (being pierced and the insertion of the ring and after it all); tears came to my eyes and I screamed out a little; but I did my best to keep it in. The pain was like nothing I have felt before.

I thought it was going to start bleeding all over me; I was just in shock from all the pain I was feeling.

I looked in the mirror as she adjusted the rings, and I loved the whole look of it. And I loved my choice of rings :). Then I saw how red my ear was, and felt the heat in it; my ear was throbbing. So she sprayed it with some stuff that was suppose to make it feel more comfy.

After everything was done I received this bag of sea salt and was told to give it a bath of some of it in some warm water two times daily and also to apply a little alcohol in the mornings; also to spin the ring while cleaning it. This was something I would not be attempting, I was afraid to touch it. Well do not follow me, do what your piercer says.

Now I'm just wondering how in GOD'S name I am going to sleep well anymore. Last night was not too bad but I woke up every time I rolled over on to ma ear... Now I feel restless. You know what they say beauty comes with pain (well my mother always says it.)

Cleaning it for the first time was awful; oh my God it hurts to move it. So I have decided not to move it, and it is because I am afraid. I can not manage the excessive pain, and I'm afraid it will start bleeding which is quite possible. I was told that the salt soak would ease the pain but it only makes it worse, it stings and burns me long after the soak.

I was afraid to get this piercing because everyone said it was the most painful ear piercing, and I would wake up one morning and see my pillow covered in blood :-O, but I looked pass that; I wanted my own experience with it and I'm loving the results minus the pain.
