I must say, I wasn't completely in the best state of mind to be losing so much blood. But I wasn't too worried about my state of mind or body at the time.

Here's a quick back story of how I came to spend a painful hour in my piercer's room... I'm 15. I'm a girl. I was in love. We broke up. I'm addicted to piercing. What would you do if you were me?!

I had plenty of money in my wallet, and I'd been admiring rook piercings for a while now, but fear of exactly how much the piercing would hurt stopped me from acting on this. Til I snapped, of course.

I showed up, and shocked my piercer when I asked to get 5 piercings, two tragus', two rooks, and a nipple piercing (to match the one I already had). But my dear Jackie didn't say no to my challenge. I booked and left.

A few hours later I returned and filled out some forms, then entered the room. I climbed onto the bed, with my friend, Sam watching, excitedly. Jackie and I began talking about the jewellery and placement of the rooks. She warned me that rings would sit sticking out, and would hurt more to sleep on, so I chose to have a bar put through it. She left, and returned with two 16 gauge bent barbels.

"Okay, what should we start with?" she asked.

"Rook, seems I think it'll hurt the most" I replied, nervously.

She marked out the entry point, and it looked pretty good, so I gave it the okay, and lay down. She cleaned the area and Sam offered me his hand to squeeze, as he watched eagerly.

"Okay, Honey, here we go..." She warned before pressing the needle to my cartilage.

Never, never have I been in that much pain! I felt her prick the skin, and it stung, then there was a lot of pressure and pain, and she paused somewhere in the middle for a second, and then pressed it through the other side. I'm squeezing Sam's hand so hard he's in pain too! I was expecting a crunching sound, or a "pop!" but I never heard it over my own moans of pain.

The whole piercing took maybe 3 seconds, but it felt like it took years.

She tried to soothe me with gentle words, and Sam kept telling me how "extreme" and "insane" I was. I was numb, so I couldn't feel her put the bar through, but could feel the cold dampness of blood.

Upon doing the other side, I had to hold a cotton pad to my bloodied ear, as so not to bleed on the bed. The other side hurt a little less, and was slightly faster. It bled less too.

Next, it was tragus time! Jackie marked them out, and I looked in the mirror excitedly, because even the dots looked cute, and my rooks, which had nearly stopped bleeding, looked beautiful. I lie back down and she sticks a wooden Popsicle stick under my tragus, to make sure I didn't end up getting stabbed.

My hand still in Sam's, I brace myself as I see her from the corner of my eye, move to position the needle. "Ready, honey?" she says. A stupid question, I'm always ready to be pierced. Before I can reply Jackie's pushing the needle through. A lot of my friends who have had the piercing done told me it didn't hurt, but I was unpleasantly surprised when it did! It stung pretty bad, but had nothing on the rook. So, this time I managed not to break Sam's fingers.

Jackie put the little BCR through, very quickly, as a bit of blood leaked out.

The next tragus hurt a bit more, but I was starting to get used to the pain now, and was hardly squeezing his hand at all anymore.

When we were done on the ears, it was time for Sam to get out, despite his pleas to stay and watch the nipple piercing, Jackie removed him. I'd already had my left nipple pierced, and the right one, but sadly, the right one had had a too short of a bar in it, and I'd had to remove it. So this re-piercing was free.

When we'd marked it all out, she found it hard to get the clamps on, as they kept slipping. I took this as being a bad sign and thought "maybe I should quit while I'm ahead", however, she eventually got the clamps still and as she readied the needle said "Alright, sweetie, when I count to three, you wriggle your toes and I'll pierce you"

Confused, I thought I'd misheard, and before I could say "pardon?" she was up to three and the needle was half way through scar tissue! I groaned like I did after all the piercings, and she told me that apparently wriggling your toes is meant to help with the pain and distract you. "A bit too late to tell me that now!!" I thought grumpily, but held my tongue and nodded politely.

We were finally done, as she put a cotton pad over my new nipple piercing. I'd been lying down for about 40 minutes or so, and as soon as I sat up, I nearly passed out! I said nothing but I think she noticed me swaying a little and said "I'll get you a drink of water, and something to get your blood sugars up!" and she left, as my friends all piled in to look at my pretty new ear piercings, and to call me "crazy" and their "idol", which did make me laugh. Jackie returned with a polystyrene cup of freezing cold water, and a lollypop.

While it didn't feel like it, I was in the room for exactly one hour getting pierced.

Happy with myself, my piercings, and my lollypop, I left the little white piercing room and paid at the counter before leaving. As I walked with my friends, sipping from the cup, I noticed the water tasted of blood, and looked down to find blood on the cup. I'd bitten my lip in pain during one of the piercings, and hadn't noticed!

I saw my ex a couple of days later and showed off the new piercings to him. He, being a un-modded sort, thought I was insane, and I felt great! Before getting the piercings, I'd been very unhappy, for many reasons, but after getting them I was basically glowing, and I've been great ever since.

I haven't had that much trouble with them, I suppose.

My right rook got infected straight away but I cleaned it constantly til it went away, about 2 weeks later.

Both my tragus' have scarring around them, but that's okay.

And the nipple piercing was done completely wrong, and when I took the cotton pad off, it nearly ripped out. It was pierced through the nipple itself, and was very, very shallow. I've since had it redone, and it worked out great the 3rd time!

While I wouldn't really recommend getting a tonne of serious piercings in one session, I would recommend it as a therapy, and I love all my new piercings! If you get a chance, get some of them!

The pain is nothing on the wonderful outcome, and feeling you get after being pierced!

Happy Modding.
