On Saturday, May 10, 2008, my friend Lindsey and I decided that I should go and get a piercing. I already have many, you see. I have 22 piercings right now, 20 in my ear, and two on my face. I have had plenty more actually. I have retired about 15 other piercings as of today. I just got tired of the facial piercings, or the other regions of my body. But my ear piercings are what have interested me the most. I have every single piercing I have ever gotten in my ear, still there.

We decided to hit up Art Addictions, located in Brampton, Ontario. I absolutely love this studio. I'm not too crazy about the tattoo's they do there, as I have had one bad experience. But Nik (Nicole) is an amazing piercer, and has done the majority of my piercings.
I got the piercing itch a couple weeks ago. I haven't had any piercings since 2005, when I got my vertical industrial. I have focused on my tattoos, and getting touch up's on them, that I sort of forgot about piercings.
I went to the studio at 2 pm on Saturday. I either wanted a snug piercing, anti-tragus, conch or daith pierced. As I already had a conch and daith piercing, I decided to think about the two other piercings and decide on what I wanted done. I have my tragus done already, alongside a variety of piercings. So I decided that I would get one anti-tragus done, and wait a few weeks to get the other done.
So we approach the shop. It took us a bit to find it because they moved in the beginning of April 2008, and I haven't been to this shop in three years. So we finally found it, it was hidden behind a bunch of stores. I took out money at the local Royal Bank and told the tattooist that I was interested in getting my Anti-Tragus pierced. He told me that Nik had just disappeared to the Shopper's Drugmart and would be back soon. We waited about 20 minutes until she came back, talked to some other customers and asked me to come on to the back.
I was super nervous. Not only did I read everything on the BMEzine site, but I started to get scared because people said how much this piercing hurt. Now, remember, I haven't had a piercing in nearly three years. So I was starting to feel sick and dizzy. But my friend came all the way out with me, so I knew I had to get it done.
Nik told me to sit down and lay back on the seat. She cleaned my ear with disinfectant, and marked my ears when a marker. I looked at it, said it was fine the way it was. Especially cause I am not to picky. She picked up her clamps, clamped my ear, told me to take a deep breath in, and exhale, and she pushed the needle through my ear.
Nik has quick hands. It was in and out and over and done with in as little as a second. I heard the normal 'crunching' sound of the cartilage, felt the sharp pain of the needle travel through my ear, down the right side of my neck as I exhaled. She told me to hold a second, said that there would be some pressure and slipped in the 16g curved barbell in my ear. That didn't really hurt. She started to clean the little bit of blood I had in my ear, and I flinched a bit cause I didn't enjoy her touching my ear after that.
Nik handed me over the instructions on how to take care of the piercing. But she need not tell me what to do, cause of the other 20 piercings I have in my ear. We chitchatted for a bit about the new studio, how big it was and how nicely everything was laid out. And I guaranteed her that I would be back in a month to get the other side done.
I would have done the other side, but I sleep on my side, and didn't want both sides of my ears hurting.
It ached for a bit for the first few days. I noticed if I don't clean it every couple of hours it starts to really bug me. But it's been a couple days now, and I am able to sleep on that side of my ear. And already counting down the days until I get the other side done, June 7 2008 is when I hit Art Addictions again for it!
I totally suggest getting this. I suggest not reading too much into other people's experiences, as each person has a different experience. I recommend going to someone who knows what they are doing, because it they didn't know how to do this piercing, I could see how much it would hurt!!
But if you are ever in the area of Brampton, I would totally hit Art Addictions up for piercings! Highly recommended!
