I had 3 experiences, two horrible & one good (:
So let's start of with the...

First time: It was about 1 or 2 years ago. I remember a bit.
I was cleaning my room & found a "carpenter nail", was like 8g I suppose. I decided to put it through my (ear lobe) piercing. It hurt & bled. I looked around for another nail & put it in the other piercing. I used rubbing alcohol a few times to clean my ears (I remember how much it burned) I had thought everything was going good (besides the constant bleeding for playing with my ears) until I took them out to clean them. It shocked me when I saw the nails were rusting xD So I kept them out.
I'm such a poor kid, so I could never get "real" gauges & whatever But please do not use shit like this, I guess I'm lucky I had a tetanus shot xD
Use "real" & sterile supplies. Or get it done professionally.

Second time: Ok, so a while back I was doing some thinking, if I should stretch my ear lobes (again) or not. It really was a hard decision, because my mom doesn't like that "look" plus she like flipped out the first time I did it. But I never really pay attention to her :p but I do respect her greatly.
Well later on in the month I got my jewelry that my mom had gotten me for my labret piercings that I never use (they're like horns. In the very bottom you will see a picture of one that are similar to the ones i have) So anyways, I decided to use them to stretch my ear lobes.
I started with my left ear. It felt alright but hurt a bit. Then I did the right. I kept pushing them through on both my ears. Once it got to the thicker part of the jewelry, it started hurting really bad. So I stopped for the night.
When I woke up the next day, my ears were throbbing, the jewelry in my left ear fell out over night but I put it back in. Behind my right ear, like on the neck, hurt like hell. I freaked out & got some ice. But that didn't do anything to make my ears feel better. Both my ears were all hot & really swollen.
Later I had realized I didn't use any rubbing alcohol before I started or after, so that was the reason my ears had gotten infected. That was a huge mistake.
I ended up taking them out. They were still swollen for the next few days. I had thought to myself that I would never try that again....... Until about 2 weeks ago (:

Third time: This time I remembered to get the rubbing alcohol :p & used the same jewelry from last time, so I washed them & put rubbing alcohol on them.
I sat on my bed. Put some rubbing alcohol on the front & back of my ear lobes. Took a deep breath. I started with my right ear this time, then the left. It hurt more this time because I pretty much made a new hole in the back of my right earlobe because it was already closing up. But the left ear was fine. I felt the same pain like the last time. I stopped again right when it started hurting bad. Left them in, put some rubbing alcohol on my ears with a corner of a t-shirt.
The next day they did hurt but not as much as last time. I was super stoked but kept my hood on my jacket on. I didn't want the jewelry to fall out so I put tape around it in back xD
Two days later I got the jewelry all the way in :D So now I have my ear lobes to a 6g. But once I get some money I'm going to stretch them more until my ears are to a 0!! I'm excited (:
Right now my ears feel great! :D I know they are not completely healed yet, but at least I can take them out when I shower & put them back in without a problem (:

So here's a picture of what the jewelry I used looks like:

(this one is thinner than the two i have)
I have them in still. So yea, it looks pretty cool but I'm going to change them to a bigger gauge pretty soon (:

I don't regret the unsuccessful times, just makes me laugh how I did it & i learned from my mistakes.
But like I have said in the first story: Use "real" & sterile supplies. Or get it done professionally.
& I'm so serious!! Because I don't think you want infected ears.

Anyways, thanks for reading :D
