Hi everyone my name is Cassie. I want to tell all of you people out there my experience when I pierced my cartilage 3 times. To give you a little background on myself. Well my mom is ok with piercings bit not all of them and my dad hates them he thinks they are disgusting. I have 7 piercings including the 3 cartilage. I have 3 cartilage which I am writing about now,1 tragus, 1 industrial, 1 lobe on each ear and 1 nose ring. I know that maybe a lot of piercings for some people but I love piercings and I think that they are a form of expression. and I like to express myself a lot. I am thinking of getting more done though. Like my sternum, nipples, my wrist twice, VCH(vertical clitorial hood), cheeks, and some more but I do not know at the moment.

First to start off I only did this because I was really mad at someone and I wanted to ease my pain. I know sounds weird. But oh well you people can think what you want.
So one day I was in my room really mad at someone in my school and I really wanted to pierce something. So I decided I would pierce three of my cartilage. I knew I wanted two of them on my upper ear and one a little bit lower. so I decided to put that one like right across from my tragus piercing.
First I sterilized all of my supplies. I got an actual needle not a pin like many self piercers use and put it in some alchohol. I know im cheap but thats all I had at the time. I also put this really long earring in some alchohol as well. Next I put some alchohol on the part I was going to pierce. So I marked where I wanted to pierce and put the needle up to the mark and just stabbed it through. I was super suprised that it didn't hurt that much because people say cartilage hurts a lot. So I left the needle in for a little bit because I read on BME that it is easier to put the jewelery in the longer you leave the needle in. It was a little hard but I got it
through alright.
So I pulled the needle out and put the earring in. Next i did the same exact thing i did with the first one. Sterilized the needle, marked where I wanted to pierce, and just stabbed the needle through. Then waited ten minutes and pulled the needle out and put another one of my really long earrings in. So it was like 11:30 when I finished those two piercings so I decided I would go to sleep and do it tomorrow after I got out of school.
The next day was so long cause I had to wait until all of my 11 classes were done. I felt like the the day was going really slow. so finally I got to the last mod and the bell rang. I practically rushed on to my bus to get home. So when I got home I went up to my room and got out some supplies to do my third cartilage piercing. So I went through the same period as I did yesterday. I sterilized the needle, marked where I wanted to pierce it, and just shoved it through. I do not know why but this one hurt a little bit more than the other two but still very tolerable.
I love my three cartilage rings. they are like a part of me. I love doing self piercings but I have to say this again. Do not pierce yourself unless you have very sterile things and oh yeah I cant forget.
The Cleaning:
1. Take q-tip
2. Dip it in alchohol/hydrogen peroxide or use sea salt water soaks
3. Clean with q-tip all around the piercing.
4. Leave it on for like two or three minutes.
5. Wash it off and continue with your day
You should clean your new piercing at least two times a day. Like when you get up in the morning and when you go to bed or instead of alchohol or hydrogen peroxide you can use a sea-salt water soak. ( Two parts water and one part salt). Well I hope all of you fantastic people have enjoyed my story and I have had my cartilage piercings on for a little over six months.
