Well, I got my piercing done like two days ago and I love it. I've wanted an industrial for a while now and I told my parents it's pretty much either that or my tongue, they definitely went for the industrial because both are pretty much against tongue piercing so I took my mom and my best friend Jessica with me (both are very afraid of needles so it wasn't exactly their kind of place) I think my friend was freaking out more than me. I've heard a lot of different stories about industrials and also read a couple on here and I still didn't really know what to expect because I know it's a different experience for everyone.

Great Place Location Crofton MD Well I get to the place (which I've heard only good things about) and I start talking to one of the guys that worked there, Dan, who ended up doing my piercing but there were a couple people before me, so I sit down on the couches they have there and started watching TV with my friend and a girl that works there who was also very nice and helpful with everything. Finally it was my turn and after talking to the girl who worked there, I felt better about getting it done. The guy who was about to do my piercing starts looking at my ear and seeing which barbell he was going to use and then I followed him in a room and sat down in a chair. My best friend Sat next to me and my mom stood in the doorway (neither really wanted to watch) and I held my friends hand as he explained how the piercing was going to work.
He had me pick up a mirror and tell him which angle I wanted the barbell to be at. After a couple minutes all of us agreed on one so he told me how he was going to do it and told me it wasn't going to hurt as much as I was expecting and he was right! I felt him put the needle up to my ear and he told me to take a deep breath and then when I exhaled he was going to put the needle through, he started with the lower part of the piercing, so I got ready and took a deep breath in and exhaled and felt the needle go through, it barely hurt at all. Just a pinch and it was over. Then he put the first part of the jewelry in which hurt a little bit but not bad, (by the way I closed my eyes before he put the needle through and it felt like it helped me calm down a little so if your considering a piercing and your nervous, that might help you too) so one down, one more to go! The second one was at the top part of my ear and that one hurt a little more but not bad. I took another deep breath and by the time I was done exhaling it wasn't all the way through but it still only took a second, the he put the rest of the jewelry through and screwed on the ball and it was done! Then he bent and threw away the needles he used and cleaned up.
The part that hurt the most was putting the jewelry in the second time but even that wasn't bad. The guy who did my piercing made me feel very comfortable and explained everything. He talked with me and my friend and mom for a little and gave me a freeze pop while he explained how to take care of my industrial and everything, I have to clean it with soap and water and put ointment on it for the first 7 days and then stop using the ointment they gave me and start using Bactine (which you can pick up at rite aid or a grocery store.) while still using soap and water.
The first night I woke up a couple times when I would roll over on it by accident and just bump it on the pillow and it was hard only lying on one side. But it was definitely worth it, It was only sore for a little while after I got it and then it still kind of hurts when I clean it., besides that I don't even know its there. I have long hair so I've kept it up and that helps so my hair doesn't catch on it. But all in all my whole experience was great and I can't wait until my next piercing. I will definitely be going to the same place for my any other piercing I decide to get. I hope you have as good of luck as I did and make sure where ever you go, you feel comfortable and make sure the person doing the person answers all your questions and makes you feel as comfortable as possible like mine did. Also get it on an ear that you don't use very often like if you use a certain ear more to talk on the phone and sleep and everything. I'm deaf in one ear so I barely use it at all so I got it on that one. So think about it before you get it! Good luck and enjoy, I hope this helped.
