Ok so here's a little background about myself. I just turned 16 and I have 16 piercings. I have 8 piercings in my lobes, My Anti-Helix, both of my tragus's are pierced and two normal cartilage piercings and now a 3-point spiral. I used to have my eyebrow but it rejected from being hit too much so I had to take it out and it left a nasty scar. But this story is about my spiral.

A few months ago. About 4 or 5 months to be exact I was looking for really unique cool piercings. I was in the industrial section looking for cool custom bars but came across the spiral. I liked it a lot and eventually decided I wanted it. I asked my mom if I could get it for my birthday and she said ok. She will let me get any piercing on my ear but she hates facial piercings so she was ok with it.

So all summer I waited and waited for my birthday to come. It sucks though because my birthday is the second day of school so I also had to wait for school to start. So anyway, a week before my birthday me and my mom went to Tribal Rites to see if they had the jewelry I wanted. They had lots of spirals and Dean said it would be about $75. Me and my mom told them okay and that we would be back in a week.

A week goes by and I'm back at Tribal Rites. I told them again what I wanted but the lady said it would be $95 dollars. After some discussion Dean came back from his lunch break and told us it really was only $75 dollars. The girl got all the stuff ready and stretched out the spiral so it would work. I waited a little bit and she told me to come back to the room.

I went into the room I was very familiar with. I sat on the dentist like chair and she marked my ear and told me to look at the mirror on the wall. The dots looked good and I sat back in the chair. She lowered it and got all the needles ready. Here is where I started getting nervous. I've had piercings before but I've read stories about how much the third hole hurts.

I could feel her place the needle next to my ear and she told me to take a deep breath in and she pushed the needle in as I exhaled. It hurt but not too bad. I could handle that. Then she put the top of the spiral in and stretched it around to make it fit better. That hurt a lot. Then she did the second hole and that made the first and second hole hurt and she put the jewelry through. She bent it around some more and it hurt even more. Then she did the third hole which made all the holes hurt. The third hole is defiantly the worst. My hands were in fists so tightly it was shaking. She but the final piece in and moved it around some more. By now my ear was blaring in pain. I thought I was going to faint but I was laying down so I was ok.

She did some final stuff like bend it just right, clean the blood up and put the ball on and clean it some more. She was a very nice lady though I don't know her name. I think it was Tracy or something like that. Any ways if you are ever in Colorado GO TO TRIBAL RITES! They know what they are doing and I have gotten 7 piercings there and they all did pretty good. They have a very wide variety of jewelry and could probably get whatever you needed there. They are very clean too.

After I got the piercing the lady took pictures of it. It took awhile because she couldn't get a good shot.

I literally just got back from getting my piercing about a half hour ago. It burns pretty badly right now but I LOVE IT! When I first got off the seat and saw it I loved it. Even though my ear was incredibly red it still looked good. Now all I got to worry about it cleaning it and not getting it caught in my hair and sleeping.

To anybody who wants this piercing I would say think about it. It hurts a lot and I'm pretty good at handling pain but it was my worst piercing. If you have dealt with a lot of piercings then go for it but it is defiantly not something to start off with. Also, if you can't tolerate pain very much I would suggest not to get it.
