I am now 17 but this experience has been going on for quite some time now. I don't recommend this to anyone because it was not the smartest move on my part.

My parents are completely against body piercing and such even though my uncle does tattoos and owns his own shop. But I finally talked my dad into letting me get my ears pierced and stretch them after they healed. So one day after school he took me to my uncles shop I was pretty nervous about it because I had never had any type of piercing before this. Not to mention I got them pierced with the largest gauge needle that he had at the time which was a 12 gauge.

When I got there he had me sit in the back while his apprentice got everything ready, It took a very short amount of time. Then he went over some breathing exercises with me and finally it was time. After he pierced both it was the best feeling of my life. The adrenaline rush was amazing I loved it and knew that I was going to be doing a lot of stretching.

About a month past and they healed up really nice. After which I decided to go to a 10 not knowing much about it I just assumed the logical thing to do was buy the next size bigger and go from there. I did not feel much of a difference after putting the 10s in so I decided to go bigger the next day. I bought 8s and put those in which was not to bad and they came with O rings and I was not quite sure what to do( I suggest that you read up on everything and know what your getting your self into before stretching your lobes.).

After that day the next morning I woke up on noticed that one of my 8s had fallen out some where on my bed and I could not find it(wish I would have put those O rings on now) so I was forced to but my 10s back in not wanting them to close up.

I visited a hot topic that day and found some 6s that I really liked so I bought them and after eating I put them in. I noticed a big difference from skipping sizes. That's when I noticed that you can actually feel the skin stretching and the slight natural high from it. Which for my was the whole reason in gauging and gave me the insinuative to go bigger. So I started skipping sizes going from a 6 to a 2. Which after so I started to make mistakes and became blind to that fact that if I was not careful I could hurt my self.

After purchasing those gauges I realized that this was going to be an expensive process so I started looking around the house for things that were slightly bigger than what I had it. I used everything from bic pens to crayola marker caps. I should probably mention now that my ears are stretched to inch and I love it.

But I used my things around my house for gauges and a lot of the times my ears got infected and I had to down gauge. I don't recommend using house hold products to anyone now. But if you must like I had to I suggest sterilizing in rubbing alcohol or saline solution. And most of all don't be ignorant to stretching makes sure you are well read and researched on the process or you could injure yourself.

Also while I was stretching my lobes I noticed a small flap of skin and was not quite sure what to do about it. So I asked my friend who had also been gauging at the same time I was and he told me that my ears were blown out but that they were not to bad and I could fix it with down gauging a size or two. Which did help a lot. I only wish that I would have found BMEzine then instead of just a few days ago so I could have read the stories on there and learned more about the process.

But to anyone that wants to gauge there lobes or is thinking about it I say go for it, because it is an experience you will remember and if you don't like it as with any other piercing you can take it out so long as you don't go extremely big and they will close up. If they don't there is always stitches to fix the big whole in your ear. Be prepared for people to ask question and stare a lot because some people are ignorant to the fact of body modification. So just be patient with them and endure the stupidity of some.
