A little introduction~

Ever since I was 12 probably, any and all body mods have fascinated me. Ears, nose, cheek, lips, anchors, chest pieces- anything that a needle can be shoved through or drawn on with, I have automatically loved. BME only helped to deepen this love, after getting on here everyday to see new experiences and pictures. Most of my friends also have some kind of body mod, and all told me to go for it when I told them my plan. This then leads to my first "not normal" piercing....

My parents, being the good, law-abiding, church going citizens that they are, did not approve of my liking to put random holes in my body. That said, I begged and begged for them to let me get my Daith pierced. My friend had recently got hers done, and I feel in love with it the moment I saw it. So, for my 17th birthday, I guess my parents figured it was only my ear, and I was going to end up doing it anyway; they took me to get my first hole done. We pulled up to D&J's and by that time, I was getting a tad nervous. We walked in the store, said hi to Dot, told her what I wanted, and waited.

And waited.

Dot came out and told me that it would be awhile, as they were have a client who knew what she wanted, but they were having trouble placing the piercing. I told her that I would wait, but that I would go get something to eat. I had heard before that you really were supposed to eat before anything of this nature. So off to get some chicken nuggets from the Wendy's down the street. I was contemplating how badly it would hurt, but decided to go back to the studio and go threw with it. Back I went, a little scared, a lot nervous.

And finally it was my turn. My hands were shaky, and I kind of felt like I might throw up the Wendy's I had had earlier. She took me to the back, sat me down in what looked to be like an old doctor's or dentist's chair and helped me pick out my jewelry. I choose a 16 gauge hoop, I guess you could say. She put my jewelry in a sterilizer, and also wiped my ear down. She got out brand new needles and also soaked them too. When all that was done, she told me to lie back, and just breathe. And breathe I did. "On three, big breathe in." I sucked air in. "And out." I blew all that air out. And then a pop. My eyes squeezed shut, but really, it was not as bad as I thought it was going to be. Don't get me wrong, it hurt, but nothing anybody couldn't handle. So then she said, "putting the jewelry in hurts more." And I got a tad scared. But it was fine. A little pinchy, but I was ok.

I felt dizzy after she put the jewelry in. So, she gave Dave, the tattoo man, some money to buy me a pop. I sat in the chair for a while, waiting for my lightheaded-ness to go away. After all that was done, she explained to me the healing and cleaning procedures. She gave me a sheet of what and what not to put on my new piercing and also gave me her number, if anything should happen to come up. I paid her and got up to look at my new ear....

I looked in the mirror and absolutely loved my ear. Loved it a lot. I went out to show my parents, they looked at it with a little dismay, and rolled their eyes. "Whatever makes you happy."

And happy I was!!

I cleaned it a lot, probably more than I should have, but I loved this thing and was not about to take it out due to infection. Three times a day was a small price to pay to keep my brand new lovely piercing in tact and in my ear.

That was a year ago, and it healed very nicely. I couldn't lay on my left side for a while, and if anyone touched my ear, it throbbed, but after a few weeks, I was good to go!

There ends my first piercing epic.....more to come! I plan on getting a micro dermal in the middle of my chest, an industrial in my right ear, a madonna, and about three tattoos are already in the planning stage. If anyone has any tips that I haven't seen on here already feel free to email me or talk to me on the IM. I guess I'm just ready to have all these holes and feel awesome getting them and showing them off....

Happy piercing all!!
