Until January of 2006, I had really had no mods except for crappy gunned ears that had (shockingly) healed up just fine. So they're healed up fine... but honestly, I don't find 20G to be any fun, it's a boring size, and I hate the jewelry available for that size. So one winter day in January, stupidly, I purchased metallic red 10G pinchers/plugs from Hot Topic, I had quite a night with that... Shoving a 10G through a 20G hole, not smart at all, but it turned out fine for me, luckily. After one ear was done, I just had to do the other ear. So I did, once again, a stupid move. I remember coming back to school from winter break with my new lobes. Out of the folks I hung out with, already, I had the biggest lobes.
At A Glance Author omfg_pie Contact omfg_alchemy@yahoo.com When N/A Artist me Location Allentown PA I felt accomplished. About a month later, although I loved the 10G lobes, I just had to go bigger (10G is just too small, despite I'm probably making all other piercings in my lobe, which will probably be up to four of them if I can fit them, at a 10G...I got some nice barbells, four pairs of them all at 10G, or maybe I'll go that big with a helix)... I was hooked on stretching. So that night, I was with my best friend... and I purchased 6G metal plugs/pinchers. Another stupid move, despite it turned out well. I just shoved it through, it was slightly more painful than the 20G-10G jump, which is sort of weird. I really liked 6G, the plugs and pinchers I had were nice. My lobes were still bigger than all my friends. I was really proud of them, and they healed up nicely after only a week.
After that week... the stretching urge came back again already. I made a much smarter move this time. I bought 4G jewelry this time instead. I kept the 4G in for a good month (in my right ear), then one night I just shoved a 0G taper through it stupidly... I kept the left at a 4G, and the right at a 0G for another month... until I took my left to a 2G for three days (I really didn't have much experience with 2G =P), and then I took it to a 0G, so my ears finally matched again... but not for long, maybe a week or so.
Two weeks later, my left ear was stretched to 00G, and another week later, my right was taken to a 00G... as my left went to 7/16". I still wanted bigger, and about that time, I was determined to make my ears at 1/2". It sorta seems like a bit of a big jump from 00G to 7/16", but it turned out just fine.
Not long after 00G, I'd say maybe about three weeks, I took my right to 7/16". And I got my left to 1/2", which was my goal all along. And then about a week later, I finally got my right one to 1/2". I was very happy with the size of my earlobes, but my right one got a small blowout, which healed after downsizing it to 7/16" for a few days or so. It wasn't anything major, really. It was very small. No blowout now. =)
And that's what they remain at today. Now I got tunnels for my ears, and they're looking great, and they healed up very nicely. Also, amazingly, I have the biggest earlobes of anyone I know personally, which makes me extremely proud. I do love my lobes, it's always fun to wear tunnels especially, although I got a lot of jewelry variation such as tunnels, metal plugs, black pinchers (they were my favorite, but I lost one on an amusement park ride), and two pairs of black plugs possessing anchors and Jolly Rogers. I'm gonna get a lot of other plugs for 1/2", I'm hoping to get something that glows in the dark that would match my lip ring ball, also green jewelry if possible, since green is my trademark color.
Oddly enough, my right lobe has a gap in it now, and I can fit up to a 10G into that gap, it's sort of weird, my left lobe has no gap, but oh well, I'm sure it'll be fine, my lobe has had no other problems, and since it's healed, I doubt any problems to come.
All in all, I'm going to stay at 1/2" most likely (if not, I'd take it somewhere between 1" and 2", but doubtful... very doubtful, my fiance wouldn't like that =P), and probably concentrate on other lobe piercings in the future. And as a word of advice... stretch gradually, take it one size at a time, and do it slowly, I was extremely lucky for my ears to turn out so well. Good luck stretching for anyone who reads this.
