I've liked piercings for a while now, but my parents really don't. I'm limited to getting ear piercings only until I turn eighteen, which i'm unhappy about but I guess I can wait if I want any other ones that bad.

I really liked it, and still do. But ever since we got it, many other people got it, so I decided I wanted a new piercing no one else around here had. I looked around on BME a lot and couldn't decide between the tragus and the snug. I liked them both, but I liked the snug a little more but I was kind of scared of how much it might hurt. After a while of deciding which I liked more, I chose the snug. My friend chose to get a tragus.
Her and her dad picked me up one morning and we headed over to the piercing shop. It was the same one where I had got my industrial done so I knew the guy who would be doing the procedure. We sat down and discussed what each of us wanted and how much it would hurt. Then we signed the papers and went back into the piercing room. My friend went first, and I stood there and watched. After she was done, it was my turn. They piercer misunderstood what I wanted at first and thought I wanted something totally different so we had to discuss it for a few minutes. He asked me what gauge I wanted and I had to choose the balls for it. I had to take out two of the normal cartilage piercings I have that were by it so he could put the clamp on and easily pierce it. I layed down on the table and he marked my ear with a sharpy and asked me if that was where i wanted it. It wasn't up far enough so he moved it to where I liked it.
He cleaned my ear and got out the needle. I turned on my side and he put the clamp on my ear, which I have to admit, hurt really bad. He asked if I was ready and I said "Yeah." so he shoved the needle through. It hurt, but at first I thought he was just tightening the clamp more, but then he said we were done and he just had to put the balls on. So, he put them on and showed it to me. I liked it, it was exactly where I wanted and it didn't hurt as bad as I thought it would. Thank God.
It started bleeding and he had to get cotton balls out to stop it and wipe it off. After a few minutes, it stopped and I got up. I paid, 35$ and I went back out into the main room where he briefly talked about cleaning it with saline solution and other things. He also asked that I didn't sleep on it because there is bacteria on bedding and pillows usually and it could get in it and cause infection.
We left, and I went home and I kept looking at it in the mirror. It still hurt a little bit, but not a lot. I had to work that night so I showed it to my friends when I saw them and they said they liked it and it was cool. I never showed it to my parents, I think they forgot about it.
I've been cleaning it at least three times a day with saline solution and I put ice on it sometimes because it's swelled up quite a bit. A day after I got it, it got really swelled up and black and blue. It hurt more than when I got it pierced and it burned when I touched it. It started getting those nasty crusties and I had to clean it a whole bunch.
It got better after a few days and now it's not black and blue and it doesn't hurt very much. It gets crusties still but that's normal. The swellings gone down some, it's still got a little bump but that will go away after it heals some more. The piercer said it would take about one month to a year to heal so I'm not sure when it will.
I like it a lot and so do many of my friends. I would recommend this piercing to anyone who can stand a little bit of pain. It isn't as painful as a lot of the piercings but it does hurt. Also, you have to take good care of it though, or it might reject or get infected. If you take care of it, it should be just fine. I'm going back to the shop to change the balls soon so it will look even cooler.
