It has been awhile since I have been admiring the vertical tragus piercing here on BME. After looking at many pictures, and reading many, many stories, I realized that it was my turn to go through with what I have seen, and read.

A couple of days ago, me and my friends decided to go to the city, and shop around. After doing so, we passed by Village Pop (piercing/tattoo studio), and I dedcided to go in and check out how much was a vertical tragus. I has gotten both my industrial and nose pierced there, so I figured I might as well go there to get this much wanted piercing of mine. As I stepped in, the man at the counter asked if I needed help. I told him that I wanted a vertical tragus, and how much it was going to be? He told me after a bit of thinking that it was going to be $35. After that, I spent a good 15 - 20 minutes thinking whether or not I should have this done. All I could think about at that point were all the negative stories told, and I wasn't sure how much pain I was about to encounter. After being comforted by my friends I just decided to go for it. The man handed TJ the curved 16g barbell, and told me to proceed to the back. I followed TJ, and he lowered the chair back and motioned me to lie down. I lied down, and my friend came over and stood next to me, waiting to watch the procedure. She also had accompanied me when I got my industrial, and likes watching TJ pierce apparently. TJ cleaned off the area, and marked the spots he was going to pierce. Since I was so nervous, I asked him if he has done it yet. All TJ said was, "Did it hurt?" and I said, "No." and he replied, "Then I haven't done it."

I then looked at my friend, who got all concentrated into what TJ had been doing. At one point, by the look of her eyes, I could tell TJ was about to stick the needle through, so I took one deep breath, and focused on the ceiling.

I felt the needle go through, but it didn't hurt. It only hurt after when I walked out of the place.

After TJ was done, he cleaned me up ( I bled a bit, but only 2 drops or so), and said I was ready to go. I got up, thanked him and left. My friends couldn't stop admiring my piercing, and neither could I. We took a cab back to Penn Station, and took the train home. After I got home, I showed everyone my new beautiful vertical tragus. All people could say was "Whooa, did that hurt?" or "Wow, thats sooo cool." I was so proud of it, and my choice ofcourse, cause this piercing really is beautiful.

For those of you who live in the NYC area, I totally reccommend Village Pop! The people there are really nice, and welcoming, it feels to a point that you are hanging out with friends. Ha. But also, TJ is a professional, and has a portfolio there if you want to see what he has done in the past. I think TJ has pierced everything possible. He also takes his work seriously. I really advise people to go there because it really is a great place. And the prices aren't bad either.

I totally reccommend this piercing to anyone who wants it done. It's quite painless if you don't worry and don't concentrate. Its also easy to take care of. You just have to clean it twice a day. I do two or sometimes three sea salt soaks, and wipe iodine on it after that. Using this technique, I've cured a keloid, and never gotten any other infections since using it. Also, keep yours, and others dirty hands away from your new piercing. Remember, IT IS A WOUND! If you had a cut, you wouldn't want people or you rubbing your hands all over it would you? Also, you have to take care of it when you take a shower. You don't want the shampoo or conditioner to get in contact with your new piercing, because then all the chemicals can enter the wound and irritate it, causing infections. This can lead to taking your piercing out, or any kind of infection. If in doubt or you get an infection, go talk to your piercer, or ask a doctor! Better to be safe than sorry! :]

I LOVE MY VERTICAL TRAGUS! IF YOU WANT IT DONE, GO FOR IT!

If you want to contact me, email me and ask any questions, I'm open for helping anyone out.
