This is probably like every other experience in this section, but just bare with me. I should probably start this off by bringing you down the bumpy road to my half inch lobes. I got my left ear done with a gun when I was ten. From there, I put in a 16 guage. It wasn't too long after that when I stretched to a 14. Then, much to the dismay of my dad, I stretched it to a 12 guage months later. It was around that time that I started really getting in to the whole big lobes idea. Of course being my typical impatient self, I never read up on how to stretch properly. (I know better now though.)

Location Wolcott, CT One day I'm at school and I decide I want a 00ga so I borrowed a tunnel from a friend, lubed up this chopstick looking thing, & popped it through. Oh man, did that frickin hurt! My ear was so swollen I couldn't even get the back on. I left it in until the next morning when it popped out. It was so swollen that when I barely touched it to clean it, it popped right out. The inside was so gross! It was torn all to hell & bloody. I let it heal up almost all the way before putting my 12ga cbr back in. Not long after that whole ordeal, I pierced my ear for a second time with a safety pin and wore a silver stud for a while. From there I went to a 12ga and after that to a 10ga in both holes.
My ears sat at that size up until yesterday when I put both lobes under the knife. (now to get to the point of this whole thing)It started off like normal. My friend Adam and I went down to Bob's shop and bought some half inch SS tunnels. Later on that night, we met up at his house to do the whole procedure since it was against regulations to do in the shop. We got all the tools set up and we were just about ready to go when Bob realized that he didn't have the piece to the torch he was going to heat the scalpell with. So off to Walmart we went to get a new one. That helped because it gave me time to calm down a little. When we got back to the house, Bob set everything up again and a few people were invited in to watch. Again, that helped as well, because they helped lighten the mood. Everybody was really friendly and it was just like hanging with my friends. Next, Bob went through the whole package opening and numerous glove changing procedure. He heated the blade up and the cutting was under way. Joy! I won't lie though, it hurt. The right ear wasn't bad, but the left ear hurt pretty bad. Where's the endorphines when you need them, huh? He made a few cuts and it seemed to be enough to get the tunnel in. He took the clamps off and slid the taper through. Before I knew it, the first ear was done. By that time I was pretty drained and the smell of burning flesh was in the air. (That's a smell like no other)We all took a little break after that and just joked around to take the edge off.
A little while later, I decided it was time to get the left ear done and get things over with. This went a little differently though, because my left ear had quite a bit of scar tissue that didnt seem to want to come off. That meant there was more cutting than the last time, and every time that heated blade hit my ear I wanted to hit someone. I heard my skin sizzle and pop and strangely enough, the sight of my own blood was almost soothing. (then again, I always did like blood)Everbody kept telling me how good they looked and I was dying to see them. I hated that they could see what was happening while I couldn't. I wanted to watch too. Bob asked me if I was ok. I said yes, and the taper was slid through my freshly sliced lobe. I had never been happier to feel cold steel on my skin in my life. It felt really good against my throbbing lobe. Then, before I knew it, the last tunnel ws in. Next, the place was cleaned up and we took a few pictures. We went over the after care procedure and he bagged the little pieces of my ears for me to take home. After that we all went upstairs to get some drinks and relax for a few. Finally, Adam payed him (it was a gift for my 18th birthday)and he drove us home.
Sleeping on it last night was a pain though. I usually sleep on my side, but that just wasnt't happening. They were too sore. When I woke up this morning, I noticed that I had rolled on my side in the night. Surprisingly though, my left ear (the one I slept on) didn't hurt, so I slept for a few more hours on that side. I don't anticipate much trouble from my lobes considering they been so good thus far. It won't be too long now before I stretch up to 5/8". Although, this time I'm waiting till everything is fully healed before I try and stretch.
Bob did a great job and I'll definitely go back to him if I'm ever in the area. I couldn't be happier with my new lobes.
