This actually happened four days ago. I have never seen another live person with their tragus pierced. I had gone to Cat Tattoo to get my tongue pierced about seven weeks ago. Dwayne, who is a really funny guy and makes you feel very comfortable, pierced my tongue, and whatever piercing I did next, I wanted him to do it.
At A Glance Author Stacy Contact foxymoonchild@aol.com When A week ago Artist Dwayne Studio Cat Tattoo Location Addison, TX I found this site after surfing around to find some stories about getting your tongue re-pierced (3rd time). While looking through the pictures I noticed the Tragus but didn't think twice about it. After I got my tongue done, I had an itch for something else, something noticeable and cute. Then I remembered the Tragus. So I looked at more pictures and read some stories. I put it off for about 3 weeks due to making sure I had plenty of funds. I also wanted to wait till my birthday. It was to be my birthday present to myself.
I had mixed information about the pain. But then again everyone's pain threshold is different. I asked some friends about what their reaction to it was, they all said pretty much the same thing. That it was different and kind of freaky. Which was exactly what I was going for. I have never seen anyone else with it, only on the pictures on this site. My boyfriend was skeptical. So I said what the hell, it's for me and no one else.
So I went to Dwayne, (he remembered me) I told him what I wanted, and he asked if I wanted both. I wanted to decide after I did the first one. But he said if he sets up for both he has to do both. So I said alrighty, not a problem. I had my best friend with me for moral support. While he went to set up the room I started to get nervous. I was excited about getting something no one else had. I looked through pictures of piercing and tattoos done at this particular parlor to calm me down. Finally I was called back.
He took particular care in making sure both were even. He sized the hoops and put them even on each ear (before piercing) to make sure I liked them and they were even. He disinfected the area. Then he carefully placed the purple ink wear the hoops were temporarily placed. He looked back and forth from left ear to right ear to make absolute sure they were even. Dwayne then told me to lie down; we were going to do the right one first. For the first time ever, I didn't feel nervous. The clamp went on and I took a deep breath as instructed. He pushed it through, it was a slow piercing as I heard and felt three tiny little pops. The outer skin, the inner cartilage, then finally out the other side. It didn't hurt, well, until he pulled the jewelry through but even that was minimal. He kept asking me if I was ok. Which I was and the right one was finished.
On to the left. This side actually took a little longer and was painful. According to my friend who went with me, the look on Dwayne's face when he pierced this one might have taken more effort. I heard the first two pops, then a pause; it felt like he was having to move the needle around to make sure he went out on the purple dot. Then the last and final painful pop. That is where it hurt. Apparently I have think skin on the left side. Ah well, it didn't bleed.
I sat up and immediately jumped for the mirror. I was soooooooooo happy. I think I was happier with this than with the tongue piercing. I thanked him profusely after he gave me my after care instructions. I tipped him and told him I'll be back for something else soon. If anyone is in the north Dallas area and want someone who is highly recommended, go to Cat Tattoo on Beltline and the North Dallas Tollway. Ask for Dwayne. He is awesome and very good at what he does.
I haven't gone to work yet to show off my new piercings. I will tomorrow though. I am very proud that I got these done. I highly recommend if you are thinking about getting them done go for it. I don't have any problems sleeping on either side. I do have to take extra care when changing shirts and answering a phone. Just have to be conscious of them. Cleaning them is easy. I am not exactly sure how I will be cleaning them at work, but when the time comes I'll figure it out. Maybe I'll get a rook next time.
