A lot of people I know say that they get piercings to be different, but then I look around and see everyone with the same thing! I really wanted to pierce my tongue but I knew my parents would not like it at all and I probably would have to take it out. I decided to get something I had only seen once or twice and something in my ear. I didn't know what this was yet but I would soon know!

We arrived at Ancient Expressions and talked to the guy sitting there who was the piercer. I think his name was Dan. We discussed prices for a few minutes and then my friends sat down and filled out the paper work. I had just decided that I wasn't going to get anything done, I just couldn't go through with it!!! I watched Sam get her tongue done and then watched Ash get an industrial done and at that point I decided that I HAD to do something that day! I turned to Dan and pointed to something on my ear and said, "What's this called?" and he told me it was my rook. There I decided I would get that done, but first the pain factor. I asked him if it hurt a lot and his reply was, "Look at me, does it look like I have one?" and then a huge grin spread across his face and he said, " you already have 2 cartilage done you can do this!" So I went out to the front of the store and filled ou t the paper work. He came out of the back and asked me if I was going to do anything and I said that I was and that my paperwork was all filled out. He looked at it and said okay into the back!
I followed him into the back getting really nervous, I was getting butterflies in my stomach and was kinda scared. I got up on the table (it's kinda like the beds in the doctors office) and looked at Dan, he looked at my rook to figure out what gauge to use. He gave me the talk about how all of their equipment is sterilized using the same device that the doctors use and asked me if I had any questions. I didn't so then he handed me a sheet with after-care instructions on it and just explained them to me. He marked me ear then let me go and see if that was in the right spot, it was so I laid down on the bed on my side with my ear facing up and Ash came and held my hand. Dan warned me that it was a slow piercing but I would be fine!
I felt the needle go in and then felt a bit of pressure as he tried to get it out the other side of the cartilage, this hurt a little bit but we just continued chatting and I kept my mind off the needle going through my ear! I asked if he was almost done because I wasn't sure how much had been done and Dan told me he was just putting the jewellery in. I was really surprised because it didn't really hurt, like it was kinda throbbing but nothing bad at all! I think my two cartilage piercings done with guns hurt more! Then we were sitting there as Dan put the ring through and then Tony (the guy that I think owns Ancient Expressions) came up and was like ewww man what are ya doing to her!?! what's coming out of her ear?!? EWWWW gross man!! And my friend Ash was like shut up man!!! and I just was like ummm ya Not funny! But I did kinda laugh until Dan told me to stop moving! I laid there still and then he put the ball on this was the only time I actually said anything. It re ally hurt but all I said was ouch!! And Tony replied, "Suck it up its just a lot of pressure you can deal with it!" Dan was like I'm done! Check 'er out! So I got up and walked to the mirror. Wow I liked it soooooo much!!! It was like nothing I had ever seen, it was a piercing that I had only seen 2 other people with! It was my favourite thing ever!!! I thanked Dan over and over again and then walked out to the lobby, my friend Jay was like wow looks tough! And Adam said, "Sweet it hurt didn't it?" And I was like no not at all!! Adam told me that he stood in the door way watching and thought that I would be crying by the time it was finished, Dan kept pinching the area and seemed to be really struggling as he put the needle through, but I didn't feel anything so I guess it wasn't as bad as Adam thought!
I went to school the next day and everyone really thought it was cool, I got a few ewwws but most of the opinions were good ones! I find it a little hard to clean it, and its a little tender after I clean it but I can deal with pain because I love it so much! My parents still haven't seen it, but that's okay they shouldn't mind too much!
I would recommend this piercing to anyone but im warning you that its supposed to be one of the hardest ones to get. I didn't know this til afterwards but its supposed to hurt a lot, so if you don't deal with pain very well then maybe go for something else, but if you are in Peterborough, go to Ancient Expressions all the guys there are soooooooo nice and do an AMAZING job!!! I love you guys!!! When I convince my parents to let me get my tongue im going back to Ancient Expressions for sure!!!
