WOW! I had a great expierence with my very first 'real' piercing today!! I got my right conch done with a 10 gauge barbell, I love it so so much!

After beggin' my mother for about a month, and educating her on the procedure and getting her used to the idea of a needle going through my ear, verses a gun (which she knows is inhuman now!! yay! no more nightmares of guns gone bad!!) I finally got her to say yes (by refusing to take me senior pictures with out it, it really works, try it!!!) at any rate, after a long discusion this afternoon she finally gave me to go ahead.

We decided to go to 23rd Street because of the clean-ness and the really really nice people. I was so nervous on the drive up there, I almost blew my burrito!! But once I got into the shop, all my nervous feelings went away. Crazy as she is, my mom told me shed pay me a dollar to chicken out! I think this hurt her more than me.

After thinking really hard about how much of a statment I wanted to make with my piercing, I decided to go with a 10 gauge, so it would be big, but not huge. The lady that helped me out with it was really nice, and it helped that she (and my piercer) had both conch done.

It took all of ten seconds for us to do the paper work and junk, then it was back to the little room (which reminded me of the doctor waay too much ::cringe::) with my cutie piercer, my mom in tow (cuz she signed for my under age butt). It was rather comical how he washed up in a very George Cloney-esque bravado. While he was preparing for the job, we talked about where I went to school and what I wanted to do, and about photography, my favorite subject (this really made me like him!)After that, my piercer plopped down (up, really) onto the bed-thing to clean my ear, with this funky felling gel.

My crazy mom was just standing there, across from me, looking like she was about to faint when my piercer started to mark the location of my piercing, it took two times to get it in the right spot, which isnt bad because its hard to explain exactly where you want that darn thing!!

After that, he asked me nicely to lay down on the bed. This is where Im not really sure what happened. It would have been awesome to be able to see him piercing me, that would have ROCKED OUT!!

At any rate! Now was what I thought would be the most painful part! I kept praying that I wouldnt move or be a dork and scream, although I normally take pain well, this was just freaking my mind out!

Then, my piercer askes me ever so nicely to turn me head towards the wall so he can pierce it right. He kept asking me if I was ok, which of course 'yea' was my reply when I really wanted to say 'crappin a no! just get it over with, please please please!!"

After he grabbed the needle he told me to take a deep breath and exhale slowly (which is what they always do), about halfway through my breath I felt this poke and then a pain like punching a fresh bruise then a little sting. After that he went over and got the barbell, slid it in with out much effort. What really hurt was when he screwed the ball on.. sheesh! After the cleaning, I went to admire my new pretty in the mirrior. It was so red, redder than Ive seen my ears ever!! But it didnt hurt..

I love it so much!! And, there wasnt much blood, actually, none in the front at all! I was so glad, cuz I didnt want to make anyone faint or gross anyone out at out next stop: the mall.

By the time we got outside the studio I started to notice a dull pain in my ear, little did I know how bad it would hurt! When we got to the car my ear was hurt like mad! And it started to swell up alot. But still, somehow it felt better than my cartlidge piercing ever did (of course they were with guns! ick!) so I didnt think it would be a big deal. By the time we got to the mall, everything was making it hurt, cold air hurt it, the sun hurt it (duh!)! After about 30 min I was totally off the 'endorphine rush' and was shaking and sweating like a pig. I needed something to eat mundo fast! SO we go to Sonic to chow down on some burgers. Which didnt help any at all.

Being a very evil, my mom made me and my fat red ear go to the mall. It was so funny, when ppl saw it, cuz they would look and point! I didnt think it would be that big of a deal! But I around here you see tongues, lips and noses pierced all the time, never conches (umm.. wonder if I will start something.. dont wanna!)

Then, came the biggest test of all.. my gran. i thought she would flip out, or at least scold me and my mom. I didnt even say anything to her, going on the pre-visit drill I got. I was actually trying to scratch my ear and not be in extreme pain after doing so and she noticed it. All she said was, 'did it hurt?' I could frakin believe it!! That was all that was said of it at the moment, but when we got up to leave, she said something about it agian. Being as eager as I am, I was about to tell her how they did it when my mom clapped her hand on my mouth to shut me up. Finally she let me tell her! My gran isnt much for needles, much less piercing needles, so I successfully almost made my gran ralf tonight, and I got my conch pierced.. all in all it was a great night, I good end to a good day!!

YAY! Thats my story!! i never thoguth Id get finished with it!! hahahaROCK ON!
